And for a fortnight there, they were forever.
Matty Healy is speaking out on rumors he’s releasing a song about ex Taylor Swift on his band the 1975’s new album.
On Sunday, Healy, 35, took to Reddit — one of his most often used social media platforms — to weigh in on a recent report published by the Sun claiming that the title track for the band’s forthcoming album “God Has Entered My Body,” centers on his and Swift’s “relationship and coping with fame.”
“Everyone at the studio thought this was about Matty’s fling with Taylor and their fleeting romance,” a source told the outlet.
“Matty will never publicly comment on his relationships, but he lets his deepest feelings out in his songs and gets everything off his chest.”
The insider added, “Fans will want to listen to the lyrics very carefully.”
The lyrics include the line “Keep your head up princess, your tiara is falling,” according to the Sun.
After a Reddit user shared a screenshot excerpting the article, writing “This can’t be real” along two crying face emojis, Healy commented, “Huge if true.”
The claim that the lyric “Keep your head up princess, your tiara is falling” made it into the song drew many fans to point out that Healy included those same words to caption a February 2021 Instagram post — one of only four on his page — of him in a recording studio wearing a balaclava.
Meanwhile, his second most recent post, shared in November, 2024, is captioned with the acronym “GHEMB,” for “God Has Entered My Body.” Healy has used the acronym in the past.
Also in November, Healy posted what appeared to be an in-the-works track list for “God Has Entered My Body” in a since-deleted post on X (formerly known as Twitter). Commenting in a Reddit, he shut down any speculation about the post, writing, “Nah it’s real tracklist.”
Songs titled “Alone Together,” “Give Us Back Our Present,” “Commercials in a Hotel Room,” “EVERYTHINGAMAZINGNOBODYHAPPY,” “Pepsi-Cola Addict” and “Naked When You Found Her” were among those listed. “God Has Entered My Body” was not included as a track, though it could have been added later.
Healy and Swift were first romantically linked in 2014. The pair reportedly became an item in May 2023, one month after her breakup from longtime boyfriend Joe Alwyn, 33, in April.
Swift and Healy’s romance was short-lived, however. The couple split that June.
Their relationship made headlines again in April 2024 when Swift released her eleventh studio album “The Tortured Poets Department,” which is widely considered to include several songs about Healy.
When a paparazzo asked Healy at the time what he thought of Swift’s “dis track” about him, the British singer responded, I haven’t really listened to that much of [“The Tortured Poets Department”], but I’m sure it’s good.”
Notably, Healy recently said he has no interest in making an album discussing “stuff that was said about me or my casual romantic liaisons.”
The 1975 frontman is now engaged to model Gabbriette Bechtel and Swift is dating Kansas City Chiefs tight-end Travis Kelce.
Representatives for Swift and Healy did not immediately respond to The Post’s requests for comment.
