The reason for problems is to seek and provide practical solutions. Recently, I became a patient and had to navigate around in the broken healthcare system here in Sacramento. It was shocking, and all I could think about was you. As you may know, I have been allowed to be a guest author at California Globe for a while now and have explained why the California healthcare system is so badly broken. It’s considerably worse than when I left it in 2004. I hope my recent experience will help show you how to make sense of the extremely nonsensical, broken, and dangerous situation you all are encountering and how to fix it.
Two areas stifling both doctors and patients are informed consent and artificial intelligence. Both are the result of greedy evil technocracy. Part 1 of this paper discusses informed consent, and artificial intelligence will be covered in Part 2.
During this recent fiasco encompassing November and December, 2025, I was forced to access the assistance of a local Sacramento hospital which I will not name, simply because all the “good old hospitals” in the northern California region are now called “not-for-profit integrated healthcare systems”, and all have equal regulation imposed on them by the state and federal government. Let me be clear that all these entities “work with” the government. So that you understand this is a universal phenomenon, here are some names… Kaiser, Sutter Health, Dignity Health, UC Davis, and even the Veterans Administration (VA) Hospital. There is some major lawbreaking that is going on in the hospital I chose that is absolutely going on in every hospital in the region. I don’t want to single out one place because it’s everywhere. And until we straighten out this mess, I want you to be smart and safe.
The equation that is the title of this paper is straight forward. Truth plus trust equals healing reality. If you don’t have truth and you don’t have trust you are not going to heal. You are going to die! Keep this equation in mind as I tell you my story.
I want to be very clear about something else. These integrated healthcare systems are all guilty of selection bias, and base who they will accept as patients on what kind of health insurance those patients have. The common link that keeps them all in line is Governor Gavin Newsom and of course Barack Hussein Obama and his infamous Obamacare. Our national debt is almost 40 trillion dollars, so all these players are really pushing the envelope to try to stay solvent, and that is flat-out dangerous to your health. That is what this paper is about, and how you and I engage and conquer these warring entities reveals what’s in our hearts; HEALING, HOPE, AND UNITY.
The disease I was suspected of harboring is called prostate cancer. There is a blood test called PSA, or prostate specific antigen that was done which trended upward, thus prompting my primary internal medicine doctor to order an MRI of my prostate gland. Now over the past couple of decades, MRI has been used to diagnose various diseases, like multiple sclerosis, joint problems and prostate cancer. In fact, the MRI test is now the gold standard of clarifying the differential diagnosis of prostate cancer or a benign disorder called benign prostatic hypertrophy, or BPH, which can also cause elevation of the PSA blood test, and is used to guide further treatment, in particular a biopsy of the prostate tissue which would be histological proof of the need to consider definitive treatment if it was positive for cancer.
An added feature of this test is the use of gadolinium, a heavy metal which is a contrast agent that helps highlight the prostate gland such that a very accurate radiographic diagnosis can be established. Some radiologists define gadolinium as a “toxic” heavy metal, because it accumulates in brain tissue. There apparently haven’t been any known clinical demonstrations of this toxicity, however the story isn’t completely out yet. For the above reasons, the FDA recommends that all patients who have an MRI, especially with the use of gadolinium, receive informed consent from the radiologist performing the test.
Being a surgeon, now patient, I looked up some basics about risk associated with the MRI test, as it was relatively new in my time and turns out to be an adjunct that can produce cross-sectional views of body regions like the CT scans that have been utilized for a long time now. From what I read, it was obvious to me that the radiologist would be obtaining an INFORMED CONSENT from me to authorize him or her to proceed with the gadolinium injection and imaging procedure. When I reported for the test, I did not receive an informed consent. I asked the highly professional MRI technician why the radiologist didn’t obtain it. I then explained to her that it is my right to know the rational, risks, and alternatives to the test before it is performed, and she literally lit up and agreed, as I had concern about gadolinium retention. She said she was going to share what I just said with the rest of the technicians operating this machinery in this facility, as if a heavy burden had been lifted from her. I asked if the radiologist was around, and she said yes. It turns out that the radiologist she had come to speak with me was a colleague that I hadn’t seen in many years. He remembered me well. After talking about some old times, he said that there have not been any instances of “gadolinium retention” that have demonstrated disease. He finally confessed and said that the policy of the hospital is not to obtain informed consent. That, my friends, is why radiologists do not obtain informed consent now in America. It’s because their boss tells them not to do it or suffer the consequences. Please do not doubt me. That is called having a foot on your neck and living in fear.
Because it had taken almost two months to get this important test on the schedule, which itself was inappropriate and unethical, and because I needed it to solidify the differential diagnosis, I went ahead with the procedure. I trusted both the radiologist and the technician and the study went fine, and all went well. There is a chance I have retained gadolinium in my brain and that there may be long term consequences from having received it, but I was willing to take the risk to find out whether I needed to have additional therapy for the disease if it were cancer. Please do not get me wrong. This technology is stellar; however, we see in it a demonstration of technology outpacing clinical skill and judgment. It’s called evil technocracy. Note also the term “toxic” when describing heavy metals as outlined in the paper in the link I hope you read. As a scientist and a physician, I always rely on scientific method to draw conclusions about treatments, because you are very special to my colleagues and myself! So we must be careful when labeling toxins if we don’t have clinical pathological correlation to prove it.
The entire fiasco was focused on you, the patient! I want you to know that radiologists aren’t obtaining informed consent in this state, which is a lawful requirement of any licensed California physician to perform. It is considered BATTERY not to obtain informed consent. The physician in this instance is an employee of the integrated hospital system, which works closely with the state and federal government. So, this issue is the responsibility of the CEO of the hospital, or the government, or BOTH and both are breaking the law. They are playing doctor and don’t have the right to do so! When you look back to 2022 when Governor Newsom signed a law prohibiting physicians from obtaining informed consent and defining the alternative treatments available for COVID-19 (Assembly bill 2098), you can develop a nexus when looking at the editor’s note at the end of the paper above. Lots of dirty pool going on that needs further investigation and ending this oppressive lawbreaking.
