On Tuesday, the Franklin County Coroner’s Office stated that Larissa Brady, 53, was declared dead at the scene on Sunday, just outside Ohio Stadium in Columbus.

Citing coroner documents, The Columbus Dispatch reported that the death was being investigated as an apparent suicide.

Brady’s fall from the stadium, which was approximately 136 feet, is still under investigation. However, according to university spokesman Ben Johnson on Tuesday, Ohio State police do not suspect foul play and think the fall was not unintentional.

The coroner’s office said the woman was identified through fingerprints.

According to the commencement program, Brady’s daughter was among those graduating.

Although nothing was said about what had happened during the ceremony, some students and attendees were reportedly clearly upset following the fall as the commencement proceeded with no announcements of the incident.

According to a spokesman, counseling services have been made available to all graduates and staff members who volunteered at graduation by the university.

“Ohio State is grieving the death of Larissa Brady, a family member of one of our graduates. Our hearts go out to her family and friends during this exceptionally difficult time,” the university stated. “Police do not suspect foul play or an accidental fall. Counseling is available for those in our community who need support. Students should call 614-292-5766 and press 2 for immediate assistance after hours. Faculty and staff should call 1-800-678-6265. If you or someone you know is experiencing suicidal thoughts or is in crisis, we urge you to contact the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline by dialing 988.”

If you are struggling with suicidal thoughts, you can dial the 24/7 National Suicide Prevention hotline at 988 or go to SuicidePreventionLifeline.org.
