It’s a “miracle” that Prince William is still able to function as the royal family faces its toughest time yet, says King Charles’s former butler.

The Prince of Wales, 41, has been balancing his royal duties as the heir to the throne all while caring for his cancer-stricken wife, Kate Middleton, and father.

“For any human being to have a family member going through this is scary in itself,” Grant Harrold exclusively told The Post.

“William lost his mother [Princess Diana] at a young age, his father who has just become King, which he’ll have been thrilled about, is battling cancer and his wife, who is his soulmate, his best friend and his partner, is also now dealing with cancer.”

Despite the hardships the royals are currently facing, Harrold notes that William is not one to throw in the towel on his duty to the country.

“William is still a senior member of the royal family and he’s still got to carry on with his duties,” the royal expert told us.

“You talk about mental health and how the royal family supports mental health — it’s a miracle that William is still functioning.”

“He is a very strong character, he is his grandmother’s son and I have no doubt that in his thoughts and prayers he’s probably been thinking of his late grandparents and what would they do, somewhere wherever they are I’m sure they’ll be giving him the support that he needs,” said Harrold, who worked for Charles for seven years when he was the Prince of Wales.

As Middleton, 42, continues receiving cancer treatment, the palace said that William will carry on with his official royal appearances as normal.

“The prince will continue to balance supporting his wife and family and maintaining his official duties as he has done since the start of the year,” a palace spokesperson said.

The Princess of Wales, 42, revealed that she has been undergoing chemotherapy treatment following her cancer diagnosis. AP

Still, the Prince and Princess of Wales, along with their three children, will not be attending this year’s Easter service.

Instead, the family will spend the long weekend together behind closed doors at Anmer Hall, located on the Sandringham estate.

It’s understood that Middleton decided to share her cancer news with the world last Friday as it was before her and William’s children — Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, 8, and Prince Louis, 5 — left school for Easter break.

The Post revealed that the Waleses “sugarcoated” her health woes when breaking the news to their youngest son Prince Louis, but had a more “difficult” conversation with George and Charlotte.

As Middleton undergoes treatment, her parents, Michael, 74, and Carole Middleton, 69, are stepping in to support their grandchildren during this uncertain time.
