The Sag Harbor Police Department is bringing sexy back.
Justin Timberlake has been the talk of Tinseltown this week after the 43-year-old pop sensation was arrested on a DWI charge Tuesday.
The hitmaker, who was allegedly enjoying a boozy evening with friends at the American Hotel in Sag Harbor, LI, reportedly told cops he had only downed one martini before climbing behind the wheel.
As the internet’s rumor mill churned with speculations after the release of Timberlake’s now-viral mugshot, some fans couldn’t help but wonder: how did the Sag Harbor Police Department get such good lighting?
The lighting in the bright, crisp image — a far cry from the dull, grainy celebrity mugshots of yore — puts the infamous Alix Earle selfie light to shame, leaving the internet reeling as users likened the superb lighting and quality of the portrait to a magazine cover shoot.
The Sag Harbor Police Department told The Post that the capture station is, contrary to popular belief, quite simple, involving only a government-issued Canon camera tethered to the agency’s booking computer. In other words, they didn’t give Timberlake special treatment just because of his status.
Online, however, fans ogled over the flashy mug.
“Can I please get new headshots at the Sag Harbor Police Dept? Lighting goals,” commented one fan on Page Six’s Instagram post of Timberlake’s mugshot.
“Sag Harbor have a ring light on their mug shot camera?” agreed another.
“Why is this the most high quality mug shot ever,” wrote one X user. “They said get the Nikon out we’re getting this mf in 4K.”
“This looks like one of them Times photoshoot,” quipped another person on X. “What kind of lighting they got?”
“Did he bring his own ring light or ?” inquired someone else.
On TikTok, Barstool’s Jack McGuire called the mugshot the “best” he’s ever seen.
“His eyes are poppin’, the lighting’s amazing, it looks he’s about to get a profile done in New York Magazine,” he exclaimed. “Only in the Hamptons.”
“Next album cover,” quipped one viewer.
“For a guy 3 sheets to the wind, he looks amazing,” complimented a TikTok user.
“Looks like a Martin Schoeller portrait,” another wrote, referencing the famed photographer known for his bright, symmetrical and well-lit images of celebrities.
Some users dared to argue that the mugshot rivaled that of Jeremy Meeks — “the standard by which all mugshots are compared,” quipped one TikToker — the infamously hot convict who became a model after doing time behind bars.
