Justin Baldoni is leaning on the ones closest to him amid the βIt Ends With Usβ drama.
After the actor, 40, filed a lawsuit against Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds, their publicist Leslie Sloane and Sloaneβs p.r. firm Vision PR Inc. for $400 million on Thursday, he revealed how heβs coping.
βWeβre grateful to be with the family,β Baldoni told TMZ Friday while at Los Angeles International Airport.
The βJane the Virginβ alum added, βOh man, we have amazing friends and family and faith.β
The same day, a source told E! News that Baldoni, his wifeΒ EmilyΒ and their two kids, daughter Maiya and son Maxwell, were taking a family getaway.
Baldoniβs attorneys filed the suit in the Southern District of New York Thursday on behalf of the βIt Ends With Usβ director, producer Jamey Heath,Β publicist Jennifer Abel and crisis publicistΒ Melissa Nathan.
Baldoni is suing on claims of civil extortion, defamation, false light invasion of privacy, breach of implied covenant of good faith and fair dealing, intentional interference with contractual relations, intentional interference with prospective economic advantage, and negligent interference with prospective economic advantage.
Details of the suit also allege that Lively, 37, took measures to gain control over the movie.
According to the 179-page complaint obtained by The Post, βLively began inserting herself into the production process in intrusive ways well beyond the scope of her contractual entitlement.β
βFor example, Lively began to insist on creative control over her characterβs wardrobe. While lead actors are sometimes granted approval over their charactersβ general look, they generally do not receive full control over.β
Following the lawsuit, Livelyβs attorney responded to the complaint, calling itΒ βretaliation against sexual harassment allegations.β
βThis latest lawsuit from Justin Baldoni, Wayfarer Studios, and its associates is another chapter in the abuser playbook,β Livelyβs legal team said in a statement to The Post.Β
βThis is an age-old story: A woman speaks up with concrete evidence of sexual harassment and retaliation and the abuser attempts to turn the tables on the victim. This is what experts call DARVO. Deny. Attack. Reverse Victim Offender.β
The βGossip Girlβ star previously sued Baldoni in December, alleging he caused her to suffer βsevere emotional distress and pain, humiliation, embarrassment, belittlement, frustration and mental anguish.β
Lively alleges it caused her to lose wages, and sheβs seeking punitive damages at βan amount to be determined at trial.β
βMs. Lively previously sent her California Civil Rights Department Complaint in response to the retaliatory campaign Wayfarer launched against her for reporting sexual harassment and workplace safety concerns,β her attorney said.
Lively herself gave her own statement, sharing: βI hope that my legal action helps pull back the curtain on these sinister retaliatory tactics to harm people who speak up about misconduct and helps protect others who may be targeted.β
