Michael J. Fox isnβt looking to throw the towel on his acting career anytime soon.
The beloved actor, who has beenΒ battling Parkinsonβs diseaseΒ for decades, said he would love to be considered for roles to add to his impressive silver screen resume.
βIf someone offers me a part and I do it and I have a good time, great. I mean, the documentary was a big thrill,β Fox told Entertainment Tonight at the Michael J. Fox FoundationβsΒ A Country Thing Happened on the Way to Cure Parkinsonβs eventΒ on Tuesday.
βI would do acting if something came up that I could put my realities into it, my challenges, if I could figure it out.β
When asked if heβs accomplished his dreams, Fox said his goals and aspirations have shifted as he got older.
βMy biggest goal, I think, was to raise a family. We have four amazing kids and thatβs been the big thing,β he said, referring to his wife of 35 years, Tracy Pollan. βAnd then the other is with the foundation.β
Elsewhere, Fox told People that he has some exciting events happening in his personal life that bring a smile to his face.
βYou know, my daughterβs getting married too β¦ good things are happening, and life is good. And so itβs been a good year, for sure,β he told the outlet.
He noted that although heβs faced some βphysical challengesβ over the last year, he was able to overcome them βwith the help of familyβ and the βpeople that I work with.β
βIβve been able to meet those challenges and go beyond them and do new things,β he shared. βAnd the whole thing is just keep having new experiences, whether itβs experiences that push forward, what weβre trying to do and our mission with foundation.β
Fox publicly revealed his Parkinsonβs diagnosis in 1998 and has been open about his ongoing battle with theΒ degenerative central nervous system disorder.
AccordingΒ to the CDC, Parkinsonβs disease is the second most common neurodegenerative disease after Alzheimerβs.
In recent years, Foxβs endured a few physical injuries, including a broken arm, shoulder, and hand.
The actor was diagnosed with the disease in 1991, at age 29.
Last month, the beloved actor received an emotional standing ovation at the 2024 BAFTA Film Awards.
