While I’m actually a very good cook, I tend to go a little overboard with the specified portions. And because I fudge the numbers and hate to waste food, my refrigerator is a veritable smorgasbord of leftovers. This isn’t a problem in itself, it’s just… boring. Plus, opening the door to a fridgefull of nondescript containers filled with who-knows-what inside can be a less-than-appetizing sight.
So I’m changing things up — not by abolishing leftovers, but by making them a pleasure to keep: Tupperware’s new Heritage Collection reissues of some of its most sought-after classic styles, and I truly cannot wait to fill these new babies with some old food.
First of all, the Heritage Collection is just plain cute. In addition to the very retro mix of pastel blue, pink, yellow, and green, they also come in more contemporary tonal sets of blue, teal, green, purple, and pink. And regardless of colorway, they all feature Tupperware’s throwback sunburst lid.
Along with multiple color options, there are also plenty of sizes, shapes, and combination sets to choose — including a 36-piece set with bowl sizes ranging from 1.45 to eight cups, a 10-piece nested canister set that holds as much as 24 cups, and even a set of vintage-inspired pitchers. (We’ve included some links to these below.)
Because this is still Tupperware we’re talking about (the company, with their patented “burping seal,” has been a leader in food storage for nearly 80 years), the Heritage Collection is just as functional as it is fashionable. With the exception of the aforementioned pitchers, every piece features the brand’s signature Instant Seal airtight lids to keep food fresh. They also have ridged rims for easy handling, are dishwasher safe, and are sized to nest within one another for compact storage.
