Summer officially starts next week, but for many of us across the nation, it feels like it’s already here. If you’re sweltering indoors, even with a fan or central air cranked up, that’s no bueno. Consider supplementing that cooling power with this nifty portable A/C unit.

We dug around on Amazon and came across this “tiny but mighty” unit that reviewers say is excellent for cooling any room or making pets comfier in the heat. It’s got three modes and speeds, a remote control and comes with six reusable ice packs to dunk in its water tank for faster cool air (though some users say ice works just fine). Best of all, no window or a super long hose required! That means no more lugging around bulky units to keep cool. Also, it’s secretly down from a price hike, as our trackers are clocking that recent demand drove it up to $145! Right now, it’s back down, but we can’t say for how long.

Unlike most portable air conditioning units, this one has two separate tanks: one on the bottom to give it evaporative cooling powers and a top-fill box specifically for cold water, ice packs and ice. The two work in tandem to provide some effective cooling power.

It has three cooling modes and three fan speeds, and it’s pretty compact, despite being so powerful, at just over 24 inches tall and under 12 inches wide and deep. The power cord is 5 feet long, and its filter and water tank pulls out for easy cleaning.

“This tiny but mighty portable unit is perfect when needing to cool off a small space. We are moving and had to relocate our pups to the garage but as the temperature rises we want to make sure they were comfortable as well. The airflow that blows out of the unit is great with different speeds. And you have the opportunity to control the unit with the Remote. The reservoir has a large water capacity for longer days you need it and a section to put even ice for the hottest of days. For the functionality and cost of this unit I would highly recommend it for anyone looking to cool a room down or to help make your pets more comfortable in the heat.” — Ariel

To be honest I wasn’t expecting much due to the size, but boy was I wrong. I haven’t even placed the ice packs only tap water where instructed me to and its already cold. Absolutely worth the price. It will save me in this heat wave that’s fast approaching us.” — F. B. C

This little unit does a very good job of cooling. I live in Texas and bought this in anticipation of the upcoming triple digit weather as I don’t want to constantly run my AC system to cool a huge house when I’m just in one room at a time. The more ice packs you have on hand, the better.” — Sarah Dilbeck

“Not just blowing hot air! Evaporative cooling adds moisture, making heat bearable. Tank lasts all night. Wheels + handle = portable breeze. 65W is insane efficiency!” — etivacrosario

“This little unit turned my stuffy guest room into a breezy lounge real quick. No window setup, no duct drama—just rolled it into the corner, filled the trays with ice packs, and boom, cool air started blessing the space. It doesn’t pretend to be central air, but for a personal cool zone? It holds it down.
It’s got three fan speeds and decent airflow for its size. I set it by my work desk during a heat wave, and it made a real difference without sounding like a jet engine. The remote is simple—no need to stand up every time you want to tweak the breeze.
The build feels sturdy but not too bulky to move from room to room. I even wheeled it out to the porch once for some backyard reading time. The child lock feature came in handy when my niece tried to turn it into a DJ booth.
It’s the chill you want without drilling holes or making deals with the landlord.” — Join.S.C.
