If you havenโt yet harnessed the power of an electric toothbrush, or your current one is wearing out, hereโs your sign to make an upgrade for your dental health: The ultra-popular Oral-B Pro 1000 toothbrush that reviewers swear is โa Ferrariโ is currently 20% off, dropping the price to just $40 when you clip the on-page coupon! Itโs loved by many for its cleaning power, ability to whiten surface stains from yellow teeth and, most notably for us deal hunters, its affordability. One reviewer aptly sums it up: โGet this if you want less plaque and donโt want the dental hygienist to scold you at every visit.โ
This Oral-B Pro 1000 electric toothbrush is a โno-nonsense electric brush that does the job.โ It also has a built-in two-minute timer, which breaks down brush time into four 30-second intervals for each quadrant of your mouth, and three cleaning modes for customized brushing: daily clean, sensitive, and whitening. A pressure sensor also automatically lowers its pulsation rate if youโre brushing too hard to prevent any damage. While it lacks the smarter capabilities and travel case more expensive models offer, it still packs a powerful punch, according to so many users.
โIโve used it twice a day for 3 days so far and my brother commented on how โwhiteโ my teeth look yesterday evening,โ says one reviewer who says they have overcrowded, yellow teeth. โThat felt very good to hear, not gonna lie. I think this toothbrush is amazing for the price. I love how tiny the head of the brush is. It fits into my small, overcrowded mouth perfectly. I was worried that it would take forever to brush my teeth since I wasnโt doing the work, the toothbrush was. However, it takes about 2 minutes and 30 seconds or 3 minutes if youโre extra thorough.โ
โI switched from Sonicare to the Oral-B and at my latest dentist visit, the oral hygienist told me there was very little plaque to clean, and to continue doing what I was doing. I never got that when I used the Sonicare. Great product, my teeth and gums feel clean and refreshed every time. Love the interval timing as well, to let me know when to switch to the next quadrant. I rarely write reviews, but this was worth it.โ โ Alice Meyer
โSo, Iโve used it twice a day for 3 days so far and my brother commented on how โwhiteโ my teeth look yesterday evening. That felt very good to hear, not gonna lie. I think this toothbrush is amazing for the price. I love how tiny the head of the brush is. It fits into my small, overcrowded mouth perfectly. I was worried that it would take forever to brush my teeth since I wasnโt doing the work, the toothbrush was. However, it takes about 2 minutes and 30 seconds or 3 minutes if youโre extra thorough. It allots 30 seconds to each section of your mouth, it will do a variation in the vibration to let you know when the 30 seconds is up and to move to the next portion of your mouth. It doesnโt automatically shut off after 3 minutes (that I know of) if you want to go back and do another section of your mouth, which is nice. As for the pressure sensor on the toothbrush, mine does not work. It doesnโt indicate any color or anything. It just appears to be a normal electric toothbrush. I may have gotten a โbadโ toothbrush since itโs not working, but to be honest, I truly just wanted something that would do a deep clean and this toothbrush does that. However, all the other reviews mention the sensor working so if thatโs something youโre looking for, I would still highly recommend this toothbrush. I think mine might just be a dud in that department. The charging took several hours to be full on the first day. I keep it on the charger to ensure that it is always fully charged. If you donโt have your charger with you and you need to rely on it without it, Iโm told the battery lasts up to a week. Which, is very impressive for a $50 toothbrush. Amazon says that it has Bluetooth connectivity but I do not see any indication of that on the boxes or in the manual. My parents bought me an electric toothbrush when I was little, but I was too young to appreciate it. Now that Iโm older, I think this is a great option for any person of any age. I do recommend it!โ โ Katelyn (This review has been edited for length. Read the full review.)
โShort take. A strong value that cleans really well for the price. If you want a no nonsense electric brush that does the job, the Pro 1000 is easy to recommend. ๐
Cleaning. The small round head and oscillating rotation scrub plaque off the gumline better than most manual brushes. You get a two minute timer with 30 second pacing and a basic pressure control that slows the pulsations if you push too hard. ๐
Battery and feel. The newer units typically last about a week to ten days per charge with twice daily use. The handle is grippy and water resistant, the charger is simple, and it is compatible with most Oral-B heads except the iO series. ๐
Noise and omissions. It is louder and buzzier than sonic brushes, there is no visible pressure ring or extra modes, and there is no travel case. Battery life is fine but not amazing if you travel a lot. ๐
Tips. Charge it fully before the first use, let the head do the work with light pressure along the gumline, and replace the head about every three months. If your gums feel tender, try the Sensitive or Pro Gum Care head. Rinse the head, wipe the handle base dry, and stand it upright to keep things clean. ๐
Bottom line. Best for someone who wants proven cleaning, easy heads to find, and a fair price usually in the thirty to fifty dollar range on sale. If you need quieter, longer battery life, or app features, look higher in the lineup, but for everyday brushing this is hard to beat. ๐โค๏ธโ โ Charles
