This small thing breaks into three modes to clean whatever you need, whenever you need.
This Bissell vacuum cleaner weighs less than 3 pounds, stands 44 inches high and can break down into three different sizes: a full-length stick vacuum, a handheld vac (perfect for cars and furniture) and a half-length stair vacuum for easily cleaning staircases.
It also has a washable filter for cleaning.

“I was looking for a vacuum for my wooden stairs. I knew the most expensive brand would have worked, but really didn’t want to spend >$500. Also decided that battery operated models didn’t last too long so I went for a corded model. Checked out reviews on CR and found that this vacuum was good for wooden floors. After using this vacuum for a little while, I am actually estatic about it. Pros: picks up on the corners and inner portion of the stairs. Also, works well on my saltio tile (won’t pick up stuck stuff) but vacuumed up between the tiles. Then I attached the crevace device, took the handle off, and used it in my car. Worked great. Ok, now for the Cons: cord is wayyy to short; floor attachment doesn’t articulate (but that would probably add to the cost); filter needs to be cleaned often (a small brush would be a good addition) and, as mentioned by CR, doesn’t work too well on rugs.
