Trinity Rodman, daughter of NBA star Dennis Rodman, drafted by Washington Spirit
The Washington Spirit chosen Trinity Rodman with the 2nd total choice in Wednesday night’s National Women’s Soccer League draft, making Rodman the youngest choice in NWSL history.
Rodman, the daughter of previous NBA star Dennis Rodman, was a standout gamer for the Under-20 U.S National Group at the 2020 CONCACAF U20 Women’s Champion in March 2020.
“He was an amazing athlete, and I got those genes from him, but I’m excited to be known as Trinity Rodman and not just as Rodman’s daughter,” Trinity Rodman stated (through ESPN). “I’m excited to pave my own path and get better throughout this journey.”
The 18-year-old forward scored 8 objectives and broke in 6 helps en path to a champion. She scored two times in the title video game, pressing Group U.S.A. past Mexico, 4-1.

Rodman was a finalist for U.S. Soccer’s Young Female Gamer of the Year award. Rodman participated in Washington State, however she’s turning expert without playing a minute for the Cougars — the fall season was canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Growth group Racing Louisville picked North Carolina protector Emily Fox with the very first choice prior to Washington captured Rodman.
The Spirit drafted 4 other gamers Wednesday night. They utilized the No. 8 choice to choose Tara McKeown, a forward from USC.
