WARNING: spoilers for Virgin River season 7 ahead.

Yes, you heard me correctly — you can now stream the first five minutes of Virgin River season 7 episode 1, for free, over at Netflix‘s Tudum site.

We’re picking straight back up where we left off after Jack (Martin Henderson) went in search of Charmaine (Lauren Hammersley), who hadn’t turned up to Jack and Mel’s (Alexandra Breckenridge) despite being on call to do bridal hair and make-up.

In the final scene of season 6, we saw Jack open the bedroom door of Charmaine’s twin babies and see something horrific, before the screen cut immediately to black. Now, we’ve got an answer to what was on the other side.

If you’re not ready to know, wait until the rest of Virgin River season 7 is released later this week. But if you’re up for the ultimate tease, let’s break down what this means for the remaining episodes.

Calvin is dead (really, this time) as Virgin River season 7 episode 1 kicks off

Watch On

Yes, the first five minutes of Virgin River season 7 episode 1 confirm that Jack saw Charmaine’s abusive ex, Calvin (David Cubitt), lying dead on the floor. We already thought that he’d return to try and take the kids away, but it seems like Calvin didn’t get too far.

You might remember that Calvin was allegedly dead back in season 5, but this time, we see a body… so it’s legitimate.

As Jack and Officer Mike (Marco Grazzini) debrief outside while the coroner’s collect Calvin’s body, we learn that Charmaine and the twins are now missing people. She’s also the prime suspect for Calvin’s murder, making their disappearance all the more suspicious.

Chances are that a large chunk of Virgin River season 7 will be dedicated to finding out who killed Calvin and locating Charmaine if she’s on the run. We currently don’t know if she’s actually alive, so time is of the essence.

On a lighter note, Mel and Jack have begun debating where to go on their honeymoon after their season 6 wedding. Mel is hot on a beach vacation in Hawaii, while Jack wants to do a city of love in style with a trip to Italy.

If last year’s filming location rumors are true, neither of these places will be their final destination. However, we’re definitely getting a honeymoon in season 7, which will be our first major trip away from the town itself.

In short, it’s all kicking off, so be ready to binge the rest as soon as possible.
