- The Apple Watch 11 is predicted to have a brighter display
- It should be unveiled by Apple this coming Tuesday
- The Apple Watch Ultra 3 and Apple Watch SE 3 are also expected
Ahead of the big Apple show that’s coming on Tuesday – with the iPhone 17 leading the way in terms of products – we’re seeing some late rumors around the expected reveals, including some fresh information on the Apple Watch Series 11.
Well-respected Apple tipster Mark Gurman has written a big event preview over at Bloomberg, and although much of the article includes a repeat of his previous predictions about the iPhone 17, there are a few new snippets.
Gurman says that the Apple Watch 11 will include a “new screen” that “ups the maximum brightness”, while Apple is also predicted to be “shuffling” its color choices for the watch this time around – so we’ll have to see what new shades might appear.
While no specific colors are mentioned, there is a reference to the Jet Black option we saw with the Apple Watch Series 10 suffering from chipping issues. Don’t be surprised to see this color dropped when the new wearable appears.
Three watches incoming
Aside from the improved screen, we’re expecting the Apple Watch 11 to be similar to the Apple Watch 10 in a lot of ways. Both wearables will of course be getting the revamped watchOS 26 software update at some point next month too.
The same report also mentions the other watches we’re expecting, the Apple Watch Ultra 3 and the Apple Watch SE 3, but the upgrades referred to for those devices – including 5G connectivity – have already been predicted by Gurman in previous months.
Faster chips are almost guaranteed for these new smartwatches, but from this latest report, it seems that the long-awaited blood pressure detection may not be ready in time. Gurman says Apple has “run into regulatory and engineering challenges” with the feature.
All will be revealed on Tuesday, September 9, starting at 10am PT / 1pm ET / 6pm BST (3am on September 10). You can already follow along with our live blog and find out how to watch the event online.
