The website for controversial social media influencer Andrew Tateβs self-help site βThe Real Worldβ was reportedly hacked this week.
The hackers were able to extract a trove of data from Tateβs site β formerly known as Hustlerβs University β that included approximately 794,000 user names, 324,382 unique email addresses and both public and private chat logs, according to the Daily Dot, which received copies of the data.
The breach was reportedly revealed on Thursday in the middle of Tateβs broadcast of his show βEmergency Meetingβ on Rumble, when the hackers began flooding the websiteβs public chatroom with emojis.
βThe emojis included a transgender flag, a feminist fist, an AI-generated image of Tate draped in a rainbow flag, another where his buttocks are enlarged, and the cat character used in the βboykisserβ meme,β according to the Daily Dot.
Itβs unclear who is responsible for the breach, but the hackers told the outlet that their motive was βhacktivismβ and said that Tateβs website was βhilariously insecure.β
The hackers said they provided data obtained in the breach to a pair of websites β HaveIBeenPwned, which allows users to track when their personal information has been exposed, and DDoSecets, which publishes hacked documents that are thought to be in the publicβs interest.
Memberships for βThe Real Worldβ program start at $50 per month.
Tate bills the site as the βworldβs most advanced financial education platformβ and claims, βmaking money is a skill. We will teach you how to master it.β
The program purportedly includes lessons on e-commerce, copywriting, crypto and stock investments and physical fitness, according to the website.
The incident occurred months after a separate breach that exposed 22 million messages from βReal Worldβ members, according to Cybernews.
Tate, 37, is a former reality TV star and kickboxer who has faced intense scrutiny for expressing misogynistic views online.
He has been banned by multiple social media platforms for violating policies against hate speech.
Tate is facing trial on allegations of human trafficking in Romania. He was placed under house arrest in August.
