They used to tell me: you should never do a victory lap because it is arrogant and offputting to others. I am certain that is true, and that “blame” like “shame” and “guilt” is often manipulative, but you also need to do a postmortem to find out what went wrong.

Organized White Nationalism has essentially vanished over the past few months. No one pays attention to these people at all because mainstream politics has absorbed their basic idea — mono-ethnicism — while ignoring all the Christian, neo-Nazi, and race fetishist stuff.

However, it is interesting to note that White Nationalism played almost no role in this, and in fact may have held it back by helpfully driving normal people away from the idea that the John Birch Society, Nativists, and Nationalists have espoused since WW2.

People often looked at White Nationalists and observed a lot of Irish, Italian, and Slavic activity, not the Scandinavians and pure Germans they expected. For these groups, it was aspirational to be considered fully White.

White people did not want to unite; Whites wanted to unite by groupings of European heritages, sort of like the Western European cluster of English, Scots, Dutch, northern Germans, Scandinavians, and northern French worked well together.

No one wants to end up like Canada, where a fractured identity of Anglo and French wings meant that the nation could never unite on the goal of an end-state, like having an Anglo-Saxon society, and therefore turned on itself.

Even more, most Americans are familiar with other groups of Euripids: social classes, other regional ethnic clusters, and foreign cultures, in addition to the radically foreign other races.

Therefore White Nationalism remained an oddity and because it was comprised of a rabble with little in common, it set its sights on replacements for ethnic culture: religion, neo-Nazism, the endless The Jew™ paranoia, and variants of socialism that were completely defective.

Much like mainstream conservatives embraced easy lies like the Benedict Option or assimilation, the underground Right went looking for convenient answers that explained everything and offered a simple path forward.

They produced three generations of unstable guys hoarding weapons in basements until they got too old to do anything but work at Walmart.

White Nationalism was created in the 1960s in response to conservatives kicking out the nativists — the genetically-aware conservatives who noted the importance of mono-ethnicism — and replacing them with Buckleyites who restyled conservatism as “Christian libertarianism.”

This American “New Right” stood in stark contrast to the European New Right, which looked into the importance of ethnic identity, culture, and genetics, instead of aiming for an ideological solution where we all repeated the same dogma in order to win.

People were accepting, in private, of normal politics with ethnic awareness, eugenics, and hierarchical leanings inserted into it. They were leery however of a movement that like Leftism acted as a religion or had its basis in religion.

This reflected back on White Nationalism. Humans hate to change their thinking, so many wanted to merely become “racist Democrats.” This killed almost all activity until the alt-Right arose and started talking about ending the decline of Western Civilization.

Since the White Nationalists had no answer there, they retreated into oblivion, with the smarter ones taking a new approach: combine the Tea Party, John Birch Society, American Nativists, and European New Right into a rejection of equality and The Enlightenment.

This view was actually philosophically consistent. It saw the root of our decline as a lack of unity of purpose toward a goal — an end-state like a rising civilization — and targeted individualism and equality as the things that divide us.

The alt-Right wanted a Nietzschean rebirth, not a religious revival or great patriotic fervor. It wanted to address civilization decline and in its place create a rising West, staying true to its ancient ideals while reaching toward a technological future.

This threatens the normie, so they invented lots of Benedict Option and Apocalyptic Race War scenarios. The cottagecore, tradwife, return-to-the-land, and other movements basically gave up on the modern world and allowed it to fall further into the hands of the Left.

If I have any advice for the Right, it would be to stop trying to explain our ideas in terms the Opposition will understand; this merely leads to compromise, and compromise always sacrifices the goal in favor of maintaining the System.

Now the Right is again under assault from within by easy-answers people, both the grifting RINOs and the deviant influencers. All are selling easy answers, and like in the original White Nationalism, this leads to their members neutralizing themselves and failing to do anything.

To be popular like an influencer, you have to create the illusion of doing something while you are doing nothing, and offer easy answers to people who do not want to change their thinking. They can handle rejecting the modern world, but not fixing it.

Those of us who talk about Crowdism point out the obvious, which is that the quest for popularity forces any idea into a variation of the same thing humans universally seem to want, namely subsidized anarchy with grocery stores.

White Nationalism was a failed message because it aimed at race and not ethnicity. The movement was a failed movement because it tried harder to be an ideology than it did to make things work for ordinary people. We can learn from these failures and move on.
