POLITICS: Why the White House needs to hit woke schools even HARDER on DEI

As the White House continues the good fight against DEI, warriors for merit should beware: This beast has a thousand disguises.

As witness Caltech, which has changed the title of its lead DEI officer as a method of camouflage.

Lindsey Malcom-Piqueux got a tidy little promotion so she could keep undermining excellence and fomenting racial hatred on the public’s dime.

That’s what DEI is, remember.

A system of race- and gender-based patronage (or, if you happen to be male, white, Asian or Jewish, discrimination) contrary to everything good and just and right in America, concealed under a crust of HR-speak and therapeutic mumbo-jumbo.

But Caltech’s not the only outfit trying the ol’ bigotry bait-and-switch here.

Disgraced and now thankfully former Columbia interim president Katrina Armstrong was caught on tape telling her colleagues that the school’s agreeing to the changes the Trump administration demanded was all fake.

That everything was going to be business as usual.

Side note: Armstrong and her smoothbrain fellow academics got caught and exposed because they were all apparently too stupid to figure out how to disable Zoom recording.

If that’s not a testament to why DEI hiring policies in the academy are bad, we don’t know what is.

The DEI-camo isn’t restricted only to schools: Financial services giant Edward Jones and mega-retailer Costco are reportedly doing the exact same thing, covering up their certainly unjust and possibly illegal race- and gender-based internal initiatives. (Costco is already facing scrutiny from multiple state AGs over it.)

And some systems aren’t even bothering to hide it, like New York’s own State Education Department, which simply announced it would not comply with Trump’s executive order to state school systems on the issue.

In other words, the Trump administration needs to slam universities and lower schools even harder to root out this cancer (and states must keep the pressure up on private companies flouting anti-discrimination law).

Otherwise the hydra will just regrow its heads.
