POLITICS: Trump’s Big, Beautiful (And Long) Cabinet Meeting – USSA News

Yesterday, at President Trump’s 197-minute cabinet meeting, journalists were falling out. It was way too long for some liberal reporters. Poor souls. They’ve missed out on their gym workouts and three-martini-Botox-and-Xanax lunches.

Mediate said the meeting was “longer than the Godfather“. The New York Times called it The Apprentice 2.0. Daily Kos called it an “ass-kissing assembly”.

But. My. God. It. Was. Three. HOURS!

Katie Rogers, White House Correspondent for The New York Times takes the cake, though, in this “analysis”:

There in the Cabinet Room — which is starting to take on the gilded-cage look of Mr. Trump’s Oval Office — all of the president’s men and women took their turns, each working a little bit harder than the last to offer Mr. Trump praise and to assure him that they were working to tackle his long list of grievances.

That list is as ever-growing as it is specific to Mr. Trump’s pet peeves and political ambitions. It includes preventing ‘transgender for everybody’ in American sports.”-Katie Rogers, The New York Times

She says this like this is a problem. Moving on.

…using a heavy hand — perhaps the death penalty, the president said — to crack down on violent crime.”-Katie Rogers

Again, is this a problem? More grievances…

..and the attempts at securing peace deals for as many as seven international wars, a number that seems to grow by the day.”-Katie Rogers, The New York Times

Numbers that grow day by day? WTF is this woman talking about. And, when did these international wars start? I know this might be tedious to unpack for Rogers, but the hint is they didn’t kick off when Trump was in office.

But what did the real journalists want to know? Well, of course, how Trump felt about the Taylor Swift/Travis Kelce engagement! Serious, hard-hitters these guys and gals are!

But they can’t even with a 3-hour meeting.

The cabinet event was billed as a celebration of American workers ahead of Labor Day. Yet with a running time of three hours and 15 minutes, it would be considered a wildly inefficient meeting at just about any other workplace.”-Katie Rogers, The New York Times

We had a four-year long presidency through a pandemic that felt like an eternity yet this “journalist” wants to complain about a 3-hour meeting?

Mediaite had a slightly different take. Take the “some people would take a dictator in favor of less crime” Trump uttered that had them convinced the sky is falling. Trump, being Trump, was basically saying the crime situation in cities like D.C., Chicago and Baltimore (to name a few) is bad. So bad, that a dictator may look like a more appealing option to some people. Do I love what he said? No. But, do I get where he was going with this? Yes. Mediate and the left will run with the dictator business, though. But, yes, Trump may need to reel it in a bit, as our very own Toni mentioned.

They very seldom do not pick up on Trump’s humor or his attempt at needling. Mediaite continues with their top 5 nuggets taken away from this cabinet meeting with this doozy-Trump likened MSNBC to “scum worse than violent gangs”. (GASP!)

Again, he’s not wrong. MSNBC is comprised of a bunch of thugs. And, they take the side of the thugs. This has been apparent time and time again. Remember the riots of 2020? You know the ones. The “mostly peaceful” protests? The Americans exercising their First Amendment rights for a few hours? The very same “Americans” who could not find it in their hearts to return to their classrooms and teach kids who continued to struggle for years because of fear of a pandemic that was largely manufactured by the news outfit known as MSNBC. There were others. But MSNBC was a big player.

Now, I’m not in 100 percent agreement with Trump on everything covered in this 3-hour meeting. Trump also claimed that he was not going to change his mind about allowing 600,000 Chinese students into our country to study and that his relationship with Xi Jinping is “different”. In 2020, there was COVID. And, then, just recently, there were two Chinese Nationals who tried to smuggle in a dangerous biological pathogen back in June. I think he needs to be careful here. Not sure what Trump is thinking on this one but it’s a “no” for me.

But, we’ll still take Trump’s 3-hour meetings over the Biden days.
