President Donald Trump held the inaugural meeting for his newly established Board of Peace on Thursday, and though the main focus was on the future of Gaza, the president addressed ongoing negotiations with Iran and warned that if a deal isn’t made, “bad things will happen.”

U.S. representatives have been engaging in talks and pushing for a new deal with the country after the first Trump administration withdrew from the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, an Obama-era nuclear deal that placed limits on Iran’s enrichment of uranium in exchange for sanctions relief.

Tensions have been mounting between the nations in recent weeks, with Iran holding military drills with Russia on Thursday, and a second American aircraft carrier being deployed to the Middle East as the U.S. bolsters its military presence in the region.

Israeli and U.S. officials have informed Axios that a military operation in Iran would likely be a longer-term, multi-week campaign that could begin in the coming days.
