President Trump responded to news of the deposition dates for former President Clinton and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton as apart of a House investigation into convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein on Tuesday, calling it “a shame.”

“I think it’s a shame to be honest. I always liked him. Her? Yeah. She’s a very capable woman who’s better at debating than some of the other people, I’ll tell you that. She was smarter, smart woman,” Trump said response to The Hill during a press gathering following a bill signing in the Oval Office.

“I hate to see it in many ways,” he continued. “But then I look at me. They went after me. They wanted me to go to jail for the rest of my life and it turned out I was innocent,” he said, referring to past investigations he was at the center of.
