During an NBC Sports postgame interview on Sunday night, Nick Bosa of the San Francisco 49ers unexpectedly made an appearance to showcase his “Make America Great Again” cap, revealing his support for Trump.

Bosa, recognized as a premier defensive player in the league, further affirmed his backing of former President Trump at a postgame press conference.

The 49ers athlete, after briefly disrupting the field interview, pointed at his cap before leaving the scene, as illustrated below:

The spectacle elicited laughter from some teammates and the sports reporter present. Comedian Tim Young found this reaction significant, noting on X, writing, “It’s not just that Nick Bosa crashed the post game with his MAGA hat … It’s that everyone else around him enjoyed it. The tide has turned.”

When questioned during a postgame interview about his hat, Bosa reiterated, “I’m not gonna talk too much about it, but I think it’s an important time,” further stressing his Trump allegiance.

In the year 2019, Trump extended his congratulations to Bosa through social media for being chosen as the second overall pick in the NFL Draft.

“Congratulations to Nick Bosa on being picked number two in the NFL Draft,” Trump penned on Twitter, now known as X. “You will be a great player for years to come, maybe one of the best. Big Talent! San Francisco will embrace you but most importantly, always stay true to yourself. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!”

Media in 2016 highlighted Bosa for making pro-Trump online posts and referring to former 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick as a “clown.” The player apologized and informed ESPN that he removed the posts, as he “had to,” considering a potential draft by San Francisco.

Bosa is among the athletes who have publicly shown Trump support. Notably, former Green Bay Packers quarterback Brett Favre is gearing up to speak at a Wisconsin rally for Trump this week.

“My Vote is for what makes this country great, freedom of speech and religion, the second amendment (sic), hard-working tax-paying citizens, police and military. In this election, we have freedom of choice, which all should respect. For me and these principles, my vote is for [Trump],” Favre shared on social media in 2020.

Former Steelers player Le’Veon Bell has also conveyed his support for Trump.
