Late-night suicide

The situation ever since President Trump got on the scene has been that late-night comedians have abandoned their primary purpose: to tell us jokes (“So long to a year so wrong,” Kirsten Fleming, Dec. 30).

What they consider “jokes” are daily dosages of comments telling us how morally superior they are. The humor they give us is like a fart; it smells bad and after a while, you don’t stick around. This is why their ratings decline.

Turnstile traps

Why don’t people who use the subway just pay the fare like the rest of the city’s working warriors (“Trapped-hanger pain,” Dec. 27)?

If you’re getting stuck in the most recent incarnation of the turnstile, it’s because you’re not using your head.

Brown U’s failures

The opinion authored by retired New York City detective Pat Brosnan was an absolutely accurate analysis of what could go wrong and did go wrong (“Brown’s Fatal Errors,” PostOpinion, Dec. 27).

The lack of modern technology that should have been put in place by this woke college is nothing short of criminal negligence. The university president, campus security chief and other top school officials should also be removed. The campus custodian who reported this shooter is the only Brown employee with a brain and a sense of responsibility.

Reform can’t come soon enough at this Ivy League school.

Natural gas hazard

Criticizing Gov. Hochul’s energy policy of renewable electricity sources and battery storage, The Post’s editorial states that New York “needs to push hard and fast to get reliable, natural-gas-burning electric plants built” (“Hochul’s Toxic Battery-Farm ‘Fix,’ ” Editorial, Dec. 29)

But natural gas is a much greater health hazard to New Yorkers than the use of renewables and battery storage. When burned, natural gases can release toxic air pollutants and cancer-causing chemicals that may adversely affect New Yorkers’ health long term.

Short-sighted solutions may sound attractive, but government policy needs to keep the future health of citizens in mind.

Wasteful spending

Kudos to Sen. Rand Paul for his oversight on our government’s wasteful spending (“Drunk Ferrets: Your Taxes at Work,” Editorial, Dec. 29).

At least someone is watching and auditing these wasteful projects on taxpayers’ “dime”

The other concern is force-feeding alcohol to ferrets and cocaine to puppies, which should also be investigated as animal abuse.

TDS strikes again

According to those of the mainstream legacy media, Venezuelan based high-speed boat “break-outs” are “believed, claimed and alleged” drug transshipments (“CIA zaps Tren Ven. drug dock,” Dec. 31).

These leftist media-types know such attacks are based on solid intelligence information from US Special Operations forces, and agencies like the CIA. But of course, their intent is to cast doubt on President Trump and his administration’s credibility at every opportunity.
