The Issue: A Minnesota ICE agent shooting Renee Nicole Good in a questionable act of self-defense.
The left had no problem with a Capitol Police officer killing Ashli Babbitt during the Jan. 6 protest. She was unarmed and posed no physical threat. Now the left is accusing an ICE officer of murder for shooting a woman who clearly posed a threat to his life (“ ‘Warrior’ for ‘ICE watch,’ ” Jan. 9).
This woman was intentionally impeding a federal law-enforcement operation with her vehicle when she accelerated and drove it toward the officer. It’s tragic that she lost her life, but she alone is responsible for creating the circumstances that led to her death.

The Post’s headline saying Renee Nicole Good drove into the immigration officer is completely devoid of any facts. Making her the guilty party before any investigation is so typical of your right-wing news coverage.
Regardless, whatever occurred should never have meant a death sentence for this individual.

The shooting of Good is tragic, but too many people are rushing to judgment. This investigation will include a Crime Scene Unit investigation, an autopsy and toxicology alongside countless interviews of bystanders. This takes time.
Though, from what I saw, this officer was justified.

Imagine if Good had just complied in the first place. She would be alive, and her children would have a mother.
Why can’t we teach people to not resist law enforcement? When you resist arrest, you are taking a risk.
Cops are human and humans are not perfect, especially when they are in fear for their lives.

It’s a good thing there is video evidence of the shooting in Minnesota to dispute the false narrative being put out by President Trump and his administration.
The ICE agent who murdered this innocent woman should be arrested and charged accordingly. Trump should also be held accountable for the lies he’s spreading about this horrific incident.

I wish the left-leaning warriors would see the truth before spouting disinformation to the media.
Renee Nicole Good was not a martyr doing good. She was disrupting the ICE agents doing their jobs. She had no business getting in their way. This was someone that took the law into her own hands.
Wrong place, wrong time.

The Issue: Mayor Mamdani and Gov. Hochul’s plans for a state-funded universal day-care program.
I currently run a 3K/PreK in The Bronx, but have been in charge of a school with toddler classrooms in the past. That work is not for the faint of heart (“Early Universal Day-Care Questions,” Editorial, Jan. 10).
Many New York parents are going to take one look at a “home day care” and the staff that Gov. Hochul and Mayor Mamdani’s wages can afford and run the other way.
These two need to take a time out, at least until they can figure out how to pay New York City’s current early-childhood workforce fairly.

Hochul and Mamdani’s child-care plan will rely heavily on home-based day care. Why should anyone be surprised? The Democratic doctrine is big on paying people to stay home.
In addition, history clearly tells us some of this money will be misused and not directly benefit the children.
