LOS ANGELES, CA – Authorities are on the hunt for four suspects following a brazen robbery of a smoke shop in Los Angeles late last night. The incident spiraled into a high-speed chase across two counties, leaving the city on edge.
The unusual sequence of events began with two victims being lured to the smoke shop on Melrose Avenue under the pretense of participating in a music video shoot. However, upon arrival, they were confronted by a group of eight men who attacked them and robbed them at gunpoint. The victims were left with injuries, including a head laceration and missing teeth, as the assailants stripped them of their jewelry and firearms.
The suspects fled the scene in a black BMW and a yellow Lamborghini. The Los Angeles Police Department, joined by the California Highway Patrol, initiated a pursuit after spotting one of the getaway cars on Santa Monica Boulevard. The chase lasted approximately 45 minutes, weaving through the streets and freeways of San Fernando and Simi Valleys before culminating in Ventura County.
The pursuit ended in a gated community in Moorpark, where officers apprehended two suspects hiding in a shed. The circumstances surrounding their entry into the gated area remain unclear. Meanwhile, two additional suspects were arrested later at the scene of the initial attack in the Fairfax District.
Authorities are still piecing together details about the vehicles used in the escape, especially the black BMW, about which little is known. The status of the Lamborghini, whether it was stolen or not, also remains uncertain.
As the investigation continues, police are urging anyone with information to come forward. The four remaining suspects are still at large, and authorities have scant details about their identities or whereabouts.
