(NewsNation) — Three people are dead and nine others were injured in a shooting at a club in Brooklyn, New York, early Sunday morning.

The shooting took place around 3:30 a.m. at the Taste of the City Lounge in the Crown Heights neighborhood. New York Police Department said that up to four shooters were involved and that it appears to be gang related. No arrests have been made as of noon Sunday.

“What we know preliminarily is that there was a dispute inside the crowded club that led to the shooting,” NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch said. “Our crime scene investigators have now recovered 42 shell casings from multiple guns.”

According to NYPD, the three people killed were men. Those injured were transferred to local hospitals with non-life threatening injuries. The victims range in age from 19 to 61 years old.

In a press conference Sunday, New York City Mayor Eric Adams announced that a crisis management team was being mobilized in response to the shooting.

“Gun violence of this magnitude, it really scars a community and a city,” Adams said. “We cannot answer hate with hate or violence with violence, but you have my word. We will do all that we can to protect the innocent and bring the guilty to justice. We will find those who are involved.

The shooting comes amid a seven month lull in gun violence in the city.

“We have the lowest number of shooting incidents and shooting victims seven months into the year that we’ve seen on record in the city of New York,” Tisch said. “But we are going to investigate and get to the bottom of what went down.

NYPD is asking anyone who witnessed the shooting or has information about it to please call Crime-Stoppers 800-577-TIPS. NewsNation will continue to update this story as more information becomes available.
