The October Consumer Price Index (CPI) report shows a 0.2% monthly rise in inflation, with a 2.6% year-over-year increase, slightly above Septemberβs 2.4% rate. Core CPI, which excludes food and energy, rose by 0.3% for the month and 3.3% annually. These figures match economistsβ forecasts. The report follows the Federal Reserveβs recent quarter-point interest rate cutβits second cut this yearβas inflation remains above its 2% target.
