The Issue: A mass shooter at a Catholic school in Minneapolis who killed at least two children.

In Minneapolis we once again witnessed a horrible event: The sad shooting of two innocent children and the wounding of many others (“Mass slay of kids in church,” Aug. 28).

However, their mayor and governor made this about their left-wing values rather than focusing on an event of significant tragedy and sadness. How pathetic.

Dan Ricciardi

Brooklyn

I ask that the media collectively agree not to publish the photos and names of the deranged individuals who commit violent crimes against innocent people, as in this horrific incident against school children in Minneapolis.

These killers are most likely looking for affirmation of their existence. Their only recourse to gain notoriety is to kill many people.

Similar to crimes committed by juveniles, the names should not be disclosed. No more photos or names of hate-crime perpetrators, please.

Eugene Ogozalek

Scranton, Pa.

We must all offer sympathy to the victims of the most recent mass shooting But in addition to offering sympathy, we must all support nationwide gun control.

Whenever there is a mass shooting like this one — whether it is committed by this most recent killer, the unstable students who shoot up their schools or the so-called “religious” fanatic who killed 50 gay men in a bar in Florida — it becomes very obvious that we must stop listening to the fanatics from the National Rifle Association, and start listening to the families of the victims.

John Francis Fox

Sunnyside

In light of the shooting during mass at a Minneapolis school, President Donald Trump — rather than cynically deploying National Guard troops to urban areas in blue states exclusively — should send them forthwith to schools all across America, which are experiencing a true national emergency.

Their presence might actually do some good from a deterrence and public-safety perspective.

Mark Godes

Chelsea, Mass.

Two innocents were murdered by a madman. Others were seriously wounded. Lives were destroyed by the actions of a freak, yet some in the media are concerned with “proper” pronouns, thus honoring the fantasies of one who embodied pure evil.

This pandering, aside from being disgusting, is and should be intolerable by all in a rational society, including the media.

Anthony Parks

Garden City

The terrible gun laws of the United States are felt with great pain once again. Children, praying in school, have been targeted and murdered by a madman firing a high-powered weapon.

If you are a member of Congress who was persuaded by the NRA’S powerful lobby to vote against taking such weapons of war out of circulation, shame on you.

Will it take having your child or loved one targeted in one of these insane tragedies to change your mind and vote to get these weapons off the streets and out of the hands of folks who never should have them?

Harvey Wielstein

Scarsdale

News reports tell us the trans killer had studied mass shootings and was fascinated by them. That makes one wonder, how could he have studied mass shootings?

Maybe it’s because the media, like The Post, plaster shooters’ names and photos all over the place — ignoring the fact that doing so gives them the fame and infamy they seek.

Responsible journalists know that making those maniacs famous encourages and inspires copycats.

Sandra Henderson

Pleasant Grove, Utah

I am heartbroken by the devastating shooting at Annunciation Catholic School in Minneapolis, where children were gathered in prayer during their first week of school.

Every child deserves to step into a classroom with joy, not fear. My heart breaks for the pain of these families. Our love and condolences are with the students, parents, teachers and the entire community as they grieve this immense loss.

Paul Bacon

Hallandale Beach, Fla.
