The Issue: Allegations that the indictment levied against Mayor Adams was political in nature.
There wonβt be a fair trial (βHear out Adamsβ defense,β Sept. 27).
What Mayor Adams faces is selective prosecution and political persecution. In short: lawfare.
Some upgrades on Turkish Airlines?
I didnβt see former Mayor Bill de Blasio get indicted over the roughly $1 billion taken for ThriveNYC.
The program was never probed.
And what about the One World Campaign fund?
Nope, not accounted for either.
Adams spoke against President Biden, and he has now been indicted.
So this indictment is a warning to others: Do not criticize the Biden-Harris administration

So: Hunter Biden was coddled by the FBI and Department of Justice over several charges, while the same government entities did all they could to crucify Mayor Adams.
What a country we live in.
Remember, if they can do it to him, we disconnected people are also just as vulnerable.

I canβt say Iβm shocked that Adams had the book thrown at him.
But I am surprised at how swiftly he was indicted.
I wouldnβt be surprised if certain strings were pulled to conveniently kick him down a notch or two.
Other politicians have had much worse corruption allegations levied against them throughout history and have largely survived unscathed.
It looks like someone has it out for Adams.
But given the state of the city right now, I donβt blame them.

Once upon a time in America, the phrase βwe await due process before passing judgmentβ meant something.
But now, the cannibalistic cancel culture remains strong enough that several public officials would rather bypass due process than give their colleague, Mayor Adams, the benefit of the doubt.
A reminder to our humble civil servants: There is a golden rule β treat others as you would like to be treated.
Lawfare, in this case targeting Adams, is despicable and un-American.

In my opinion, Mayor Adams wasnβt targeted for complaining about Biden.
He was targeted as payback for destroying New York by welcoming in 250,000 migrants and charging the cityβs taxpayers to house and them and provide all their amenities.

Adamsβ recent indictment is further proof that no matter how far left one goes, it will never be far left enough for todayβs leftists.
Historically speaking, Adamsβ political views and actions are certainly far left of center.
But he is just not left enough for the loony left.
Adams has been a central figure in New York politics for over a decade, yet now indictments are coming down on him, partially for potential crimes committed well before he was even mayor.

They say power corrupts. But when it comes to Mayor Adams, it reveals the essence of his character.
From the day he became a cop to the day he became New Yorkβs mayor, Adamsβ aspiration has been to help himself.
And now he will reap what he has sown, as he will be moved out.

New York is a large and difficult place to manage for a mayor.
So why, in Godβs name, did Mayor Adams and many other politicians allegedly pander to these faraway countries?
Whether he technically broke the law or not, this should be unacceptable for a sitting mayor.

There are four words we all need to remember regarding the accusations against Adams: βInnocent until proven guilty.β
We also need to remember that, if Adams were to resign, his position could possibly be taken by notoriously anti-police Public Advocate Jumaane Williams.
Do we really want to risk having someone who hates police officers as our next mayor?
