POLITICS: MAGA supporter targets teen girl at anti-ICE protest — high schoolers turn the tables – USSA News

Things took a violent turn during an anti-ICE student protest in Texas when a 45-year-old Trump supporter attacked a teenage girl. The incident happened in Buda, Texas, on February 3 when students at Moe and Gene Johnson High School were holding a peaceful demonstration against mass deportations.

Kyle resident Chad Michael Watts arrived at the scene wearing a MAGA cap and got into a verbal argument with a female student. The altercation soon turned physical as Watts struck the girl and pushed her down. The girl retaliated, and the two almost wrestled on the ground.

Other high schoolers then took matters into their own hands to protect their friend. Video of the incident shows teenagers grabbing Watts and dragging him away from the girl. The man was met with punches and kicks from the students and struggled under their hold.

After a few seconds, he broke free. Watts then instantly grabbed his MAGA cap and rushed toward his pickup truck, while the teenagers shouted curses at him. As he fled the scene, the students showered his truck with water bottles.

When police learned about the altercation, they began searching for Watts. To escape, the accused shaved his hair and mustache. However, the authorities were still able to identify and arrest him. He has been charged with two counts of assault causing bodily harm. Meanwhile, the victim suffered minor injuries but did not seek medical treatment.

High schoolers earn praise on social media 

As the video of the incident went viral on social media, people praised the high schoolers for confronting the man and standing up for their friend. Some have also raised concerns about children being attacked by a grown man. 

One person wrote on X, “MAGA assaults on children never stop. They defend Epstein in the halls of power and send their thugs out to the streets. Glad they caught the idiot in Buda, Texas, for attacking children.”

Another commented, “Give those kids a standing ovation!!! No adult has any business striking someone else’s child!!!! I hope the parents press charges on him!” A third penned, “The fact he still wanted to pick back up his hat while he was actively physically assaulting someone speaks volumes.”

The matter is still under investigation, and Buda police said that the fight began over a disagreement on the immigration crackdown. After a verbal spat with Watts, the teenage girl kicked his pickup truck.

This prompted Watts to come out of the truck, and he reacted with physical force. Buda Police Department Officer Matt Schima said in a statement to CBS Austin that mistakes were likely made on both sides, and more people might be held accountable based on future evidence.

Schima disclosed, “It was clearly a difference of opinion on the immigration issue. That is what started the verbal altercation between the two primary parties. Then the juvenile ended up kicking the adult’s truck. He got out of the truck, and that is when that physical altercation started.”
