The National Fraternal Order of police announced its support for the Donald Trump-backed β€œbig, beautiful” budget bill.

The President, Patrick Yoes, backed tax deductions for overtime pay and an increase in SALT deductions in the bill.

Fox News reported:

The largest police union in the country has issued an endorsement of key provisions of the President Donald Trump-backed β€œbig, beautiful” budget bill.

National Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) President Patrick Yoes announced strong support for the bill on Wednesday evening, saying β€œthe β€˜One Big Beautiful Bill Act’ is more than legislationβ€”it is a promise kept to the public safety officers across the country and a bold step toward an economy that respects, rewards, and uplifts the people who keep it safe.”

Yoes expressed strong support for two provisions in the bill, a tax deduction for overtime pay and an increase in the state and local tax (SALT) deductions, which the FOP said are important to the rank-and-file members of the 377,000-member organization.

The FOP president praised the leadership of Trump and House Speaker Mike Johnson for passing the bill in Congress.

Donald Trump said that if the bill does not pass, Democrats will have to answer for a major increase in taxes.

Trump said, β€œYou know, if it’s up to the Democrats, they’ll take the 65 percent increase. If that doesn’t get approved, this country is going to have a 65 percent increase in taxes and lots of other problems, big problems, almost bigger than that.”

Breitbart reported:

President Donald Trump says that Democrats will have to answer for a 65 percent increase in taxes if the β€œOne Big Beautiful Bill” does not become law.

β€œYou know, if it’s up to the Democrats, they’ll take the 65 percent increase. If that doesn’t get approved, this country is going to have a 65 percent increase in taxes and lots of other problems, big problems, almost bigger than that,” Trump said, emphasizing the Big Beautiful Bill would unleash β€œthe largest tax cut in the history of our country.”

Trump noted that negotiations around the bill continue, and there are parts he greatly likes and others he is not a fan of.

β€œI’m not happy about certain aspects of it, but I’m thrilled by other aspects of it. That’s the way they go. It’s very big. It’s the Big Beautiful Bill, but the beautiful is because of all of the things we have,” Trump said, reiterating that tax cuts are the centerpiece of the legislation.

Pass the bill!
