POLITICS: Israel on Brink of ‘Full-Scale Invasion’ of Rival Country

With political tension brewing in the Middle East, experts believe that Israel could be on the precipice of a “full-scale invasion” of Lebanon—with the pager and walkie-talkie explosions the previous week reportedly being the first step of the plan.

Knewz.com has learned that the explosions that rocked Lebanon on September 16 and 17 left at least 32 people dead – including children – and thousands injured.

While Israel has not claimed responsibility for the attacks, anonymous defense and intelligence officials with knowledge of the attacks officials have confirmed the involvement of the nation’s intelligence agency in orchestrating the attacks.

After realizing that Israel had been succeeding in locating Hezbollah operatives using cell phone networks, Hassan Nasrallah, the chief of the militant organization, suggested the use of pagers, which can receive information without giving away their location.

According to the anonymous officials, Israel caught wind of the Hezbollah chief’s repeated suggestions and set up a shell company posing as an international pager producer, per reports.

Rigging the batteries of the communication devices with explosives, Israel manufactured a modern-day “Trojan Horse” that gradually infiltrated the ranks of Hezbollah as the militant organization attempted to replace its easily traceable cell phone network.

A day after pagers exploded across Lebanon, the nation was rocked by yet another explosive strategy reportedly carried out by Israel—the detonation of walkie-talkies.

Reports mentioned that at least 12 people were killed in the walkie-talkie blasts on September 18, bringing the total death toll to over 32. Notably, the explosions occurred near the gathering of a large crowd at the funerals of the four victims who had died the previous day, according to reports.

The attacks that unfolded in Lebanon on September 16 and 17 not only caused widespread death and chaos but also managed to deliver a blow to the militant organization’s communication capabilities—which is a significant priority in warfare.

Geopolitical risk consultant Robert Riggs believes that the attacks set the stage for a possible invasion of Lebanon by Israel.

“These attacks will have a large impact on Hezbollah’s ability to coordinate a response to Israel’s escalation by disrupting their communications network,” Riggs said in a statement.

With cell phones out of the equation – thanks to Hezbollah chief Nasrallah’s strategy – and pagers and walkie-talkies disrupted, the communication network of the militant group should be in shambles, according to the expert, putting Hezbollah at a significant disadvantage in the event of an invasion by Israel.

The Middle East expert has further said that the attacks were meant to be a warning for the militant organization to tone down its aggressive rhetoric and “back off” from active conflict.

“By striking at the very heart of Hezbollah’s leadership and internal communication structures, the Israelis are sending a strong message to Hezbollah’s leadership to back down or else,” Riggs said in an exclusive statement to The Daily Express.

“The main goal of these attacks by the Israeli leadership is a first step in changing the security situation on the border between Lebanon and Israel by pushing Hezbollah back to the Litani river in south Lebanon, many kilometers away from the border, and thus make it less likely for Hezbollah to be able to threaten the Israeli border communities,” he added.

In addition, the expert said that the attacks aimed at reinstating Mossad’s reliability in the field of military intelligence, which had reportedly taken a hit following the Hamas incursion in Israel on October 7, 2023.

“The Israeli Mossad intelligence agency has a lot to gain by carrying out such an audacious operation in tandem with the IDF, primarily as a restoration of their reputation for top-level intelligence gathering after it was partially blamed for the October 7th Hamas-led attacks on Israel,” Riggs stated.

It is worth noting that Israel and Lebanon have been aggressively locking horns over the conflict in the Gaza Strip, with hostilities gradually reaching a boiling point as the two nations exchange fire over the border.
