The American left is nothing more than a crust of online activism over the endless capacity for real, and dangerous, political violence.
The offices of New Mexico’s Republican Party last week got hit by arson and “ICE = KKK” graffiti; by good chance, no one was killed or injured.
The message and intent of the terrorism were clear — no matter that the American people in November’s election resoundingly spoke, across racial, class and gender lines, to demand border enforcement: We are going to burn and break and kill until we get what we want.
And, yes, this is terrorism, and please note: ICE doesn’t burn things down to achieve its aims, though the KKK sure did.
It’s the same with the Tesla terrorism across the nation, ranging from Molotov-cocktail attacks to pettier vandalism, simply because the left resents Elon Musk’s efforts to advance efficiency within the federal government.
And it all follows the same pattern: Histrionic, inflammatory rhetoric from national Democrats, their pet journos and the pro-activist cadres, followed by brute squads deploying to do the dirty work — then pro-forma criticism from lib electeds plus active encouragement from some, like Rep. Rashida Tlaib.
The playbook stretches from the George Floyd riots to the Dakota pipeline terror to Seattle’s CHAZ to the firebombing of a pro-life group’s offices in Madison, Wisc. in 2022.
Remember, too, that during the Great Awokening people actually died: Oscar Stewart was killed when Floyd rioters burned a Minneapolis pawnshop to the ground; CHAZ thugs shot two black teens, killing one.
All as the left screeches that Republicans are the violent underminers of democracy.
All of which puts the weekend “Hands Off” rallies, rife with extremist rhetoric about the actions of the elected government, in a different light.
“Peaceful protest” sends a different message when accompanied by ongoing political violence that Democrats can barely manage to regret, let alone condemn.
