House Takes Stand Against WHO Overreach
In a move that’s sure to ruffle some globalist feathers, the House of Representatives has taken a bold step to protect American sovereignty from the clutches of unelected international bureaucrats.
The “No WHO Pandemic Preparedness Treaty Without Senate Approval Act” passed with a 219-199 vote, sending a clear message that we won’t be kowtowing to the whims of the World Health Organization anytime soon.
This isn’t just about pandemic preparedness, folks. It’s about preserving the very essence of our constitutional republic. The bill, introduced by Representative Tom Tiffany (R., Wisc.), aims to put the brakes on the Biden administration’s apparent eagerness to hand over control of our public health system to an organization that couldn’t even get its story straight during the pandemic.

A Much-Needed Check on Executive Power
For far too long, presidents have been sidestepping Congress by calling international agreements “executive agreements” instead of treaties. This clever wordplay has allowed them to bypass the constitutional requirement for Senate ratification. But not anymore, if this bill becomes law. It would classify any WHO conventions or agreements as treaties, requiring a supermajority in the Senate for ratification.
“It’s deeply concerning that the Biden-Harris administration would even consider signing the World Health Organization’s pandemic treaty.” Representative Tom Tiffany (R., Wisc.) . “We cannot stand by as they attempt to surrender control of our public health system to unelected bureaucrats at the WHO and the UN. This legislation is essential to protecting our nation’s sovereignty and ensuring that the safety of American citizens remains in the hands of the U.S., not a corrupt international organization.”
Amen to that, Representative Tiffany. It’s about time someone put America first when it comes to our health and safety.
WHO’s Questionable Track Record
Let’s not forget why this bill is necessary in the first place. The WHO’s handling of the pandemic was nothing short of a disaster. They ignored early warnings, allowed China to delay its response, and even praised the Chinese Communist Party’s pandemic response. It’s like they were more concerned with appeasing Beijing than actually protecting global health.
“Preliminary investigations conducted by the Chinese authorities have found no clear evidence of human-to-human transmission of the novel #coronavirus (2019-nCoV) identified in #Wuhan, #China,” the W.H.O. announced on Twitter on January 14, 2020.
How’s that for a stellar performance? It’s no wonder former President Trump announced the U.S. withdrawal from WHO in May 2020. Of course, Biden couldn’t wait to cozy up to the organization again, rejoining in January 2021 and maintaining its primary source of funding. Because apparently, we didn’t waste enough taxpayer dollars the first time around.
The Road Ahead
While this bill is a step in the right direction, let’s not break out the champagne just yet. It’s unlikely to pass in the Democratic-controlled Senate, where apparently, the idea of protecting American sovereignty isn’t as appealing. But that doesn’t mean we should give up the fight.
“The United States is committed to the Pandemic Accord, to form a major component of the global health architecture for generations to come,” Hamamoto, Biden’s representative at the INB, said during a meeting of that body last week.
Well, isn’t that just peachy? While the Biden administration is busy trying to sell out our country to global health bureaucrats, at least we can count on some in Congress to stand up for what’s right. The battle for American sovereignty continues, and it’s up to us to make sure our voices are heard. After all, if we can’t control our own public health policies, what’s next? Letting the UN decide our bedtimes?
