Former New York City mayor Eric Adams exploded at a woman who was taunting him at a Dallas airport in a video that has since gone viral.
The confrontation, filmed by a passenger on the same New York to Dallas flight, was originally posted on Reddit and shows another passenger saying, “Eric Adams, please punch me in the face. I would like if you punched me in the face.”
Adams snapped back, saying, “Go f*** yourself, I’m not the mayor anymore.”
“F*** you,” the woman replied, striking a nerve with Adams, who fired back as he leaned toward her, saying, “You’re gonna see the Brooklyn in me.”
The passenger then pushed past him and walked on, Mediaite reported.
Adams shared the New York Post‘s coverage of the incident, adding the word “exactly” in response to the “Brooklyn” quote.
A spokesperson for the former mayor told the Post that Adams is now “a private citizen and was harassed,” calling the video “selectively edited” and lacking “critical context.”
Adams faced federal corruption charges, but in early 2025 the U.S. Department of Justice under the Trump administration moved to have the case dismissed — and a federal judge ultimately dismissed the charges with prejudice, ending the prosecution.
Investors call ex-mayor’s crypto venture a ‘rug pull’ scam
The one-term mayor dropped out of his re-election campaign in late September 2025, citing constant negative media, a city finance board decision to withhold millions in matching funds and low poll numbers due to ongoing corruption probes and general unpopularity as primary reasons for withdrawing.
Adams recently launched a new cryptocurrency called the NYC Token — which saw its value plummet shortly after launch, sparking controversy and accusations of a “rug pull” scam from investors.
