In this dispensation we who have believed must preach what Paul calls the ministry of reconciliation. It is a ministry that believers are given by God to tell the unbelieving world that first of all God has already forgiven you of your sins.

So it is not because of naughty behavior that anyone goes to hell. And He is not mad at you for some perceived bad thing or things you may have done. And secondly that now the only thing standing in the way of them having eternal life is their unbelief.

This is why Jesus told the disciples in John16:7-11 that when the Holy Spirit comes He will reprove the world of only one sin. The sin of unbelief. The sin of having no faith in Him.

But, wait! Jesus said when the Holy Spirit comes. Does this mean the Holy Spirit was not here yet? That’s exactly what it means. Why wasn’t He here yet? Because as Jesus said in John16:12,13 they were not ready for Him yet. Why? Because they were not yet born again.

This is why He said, β€œI have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now.

Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.”

So in this dispensation we have the Holy Spirit to lead and guide us in all truth. And in the previous dispensation they did not.

But, now I want to talk to you about the time when this ministry we have been given to do during this dispensation will be done. When the time for ministering this message will come to a close. And that when this happens it will be for us just as it was for Jesus, when He told the disciples that He must go away or the Holy Spirit can not come in John16:7. We too must go away.

Do you know why Jesus said He had to go away? Because if He did not go away the dispensation Jesus was the minister of would not end. And it had to because His was not the same as the one He said was to come when the Holy Spirit would indwell men for the first time. And would lead us into all truth.

Because prior to Jesus’ death and resurrection the Holy Spirit came upon men and gave them what to say. And afterward He would leave them. Which is why David prayed in Psalms51:11 where he was expressing his anguish over what he had done in the events with Bathsheba, asking God not to take the Holy Spirit from him. He longed for a time when the Holy Spirit would be with him always.

But, that time was not during the dispensation David lived in. That time was not for those who lived while Jesus was here on earth as a man. That time is now. During this dispensation. A time unlike any other that has gone before. A time Paul says in Eph.3 was not made known during any ages past. But, only to the apostles who preached Christ and Him crucified.

This is why there will be no more need for New Covenant believers to be here after the ministration of reconciliation is done. Why? Because a return to the 70th week of Daniel, which has the last 1/2 yet to be finished, means that a change in God’s administration, or as Paul described it in Eph.2:7 and 3:1-ff calling it a dispensation, is required.

This dispensation will be just like the one David and Daniel lived in. And not like the one we are now in. It will be one that is conditional. One where the Holy Spirit does not indwell men. But, comes and goes just like He did in David’s Psalm. One in which men trust in Jesus and β€œmust endure to the end to be saved.”

This dispensational thinking causes much anguish in them that have not yet learned to β€œrightly divide the word of truth”. So it causes them to lump dispensations together as if there are none.

Not rightly dividing the word of truth. Causing them to force everyone into the same conditional covenant in which David lived and Jesus preached. Even us that were born into and have only ever known the unconditional covenant that is by grace through faith without works.

In other words a covenant Jesus describes to those Jews in Mt.24:13 who were under the law saying that only β€œHe that endures to the end shall be saved”. When nothing even close to this was ever said by anyone when speaking of the requirements to join in the New Covenant.

We who are saved in this dispensation are sealed by the Holy Spirit who comes to live in us when we trust in Jesus for eternal life. And this seal Paul says in Eph.4:30 is β€œunto the day of redemption”. Not until we do not endure anymore.

No such thing was ever had by those who lived under the law. Or even anyone who lived before the law came through Moses. Those who lived under the law were required to β€œendure to the end to be saved”. And we are told it is to be the same for those who go through the great tribulation.

Because if they do not endure to the end, but falter by taking the mark of the beast during antichrist’s reign, they will not have eternal life or inherit the kingdom of God.

So we see it is different during the time of great tribulation than it is for us now under the New Covenant. We trust in Jesus for eternal life and we are forever sealed and joined to Him by the faith of Christ. And by a spirit created in us that no man ever had before. They are only saved after they have endured to the end.

We are justified. Not being justified. We are sanctified. Not being sanctified. We are washed. Not being washed. All this has been finished since the day we heard and believed the gospel.

This is what dispensation means when Paul teaches it. And in this dispensation we are here to minister reconciliation to an unbelieving world. And as we learned in 2Cor.5:19 the message we are to bring to them is that God is not imputing their trespasses to them. And if He is not imputing trespasses to them then they are already forgiven 2,000 years ago for any naughty behavior they may have done.

So law breaking and naughty behavior is not an issue any longer as far as inheriting the kingdom of God is concerned. But, only whether we have believed in Jesus for eternal life. This is why in Mt.7:21,22 Jesus said β€œaway from me”, why? β€œfor I never knew you.” And in John17:3 that eternal life is knowing Him.

And we also need to remember that Paul said in Rom.6:1-ff we do not sin because grace abounds. And we do not sin so that grace may abound. Not because we will go to hell for being naughty. But, because it is a foolish and harmful thing to return to the thing from which God has set us free. Why? Because as Paul says in 1Cor.6:12 and 10:23, β€œAll things are lawful for me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but all things edify not.”

So it’s because these things are not beneficial, and may even be harmful to us, that God wants us to remain free from their influence by not doing them. And not because He will punish us or take away our salvation. Because if it is true that we are not saved by works. And it is. Then it must also be true that we are also not condemned by works.

So indeed once saved always saved is THE characteristic of this unconditional dispensation that has never been nor ever will be part of any other. This is why Paul said of this dispensation β€œUnto me, who am less than the least of all saints, is this grace given, that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ;

9 And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ:

10 To the intent that now unto the principalities and powers in heavenly places might be known by the church the manifold wisdom of God,

11 According to the eternal purpose which he purposed in Christ Jesus our Lord:

12 In whom we have boldness and access with confidence by the faith of him.”

See now why we who have the indwelling Holy Spirit have to leave so that the last 1/2 of the 70th week of Daniel can be brought to completion? Can you see the difference in the dispensations? The dispensation in which the prophecy was given to Daniel is the dispensation in which it must be completed. And since this dispensation is unconditional then we can not be in that one.

And just so you understand what I mean by unconditional and conditional covenant. In the Old Covenant God said β€œIf you will then I will.” Read Deut.28 where God lays out how the covenant worked and see it for yourself. But, in the New Covenant God has said β€œI already have before you even knew about it.” See John3:16 and 2Cor.5:19 for this.

The dispensation, or administration if you like, in which Jesus said they must endure to the end to be saved is Old Covenant. A different dispensation from the one we are now in.

We who have believed in Jesus as He believed the Father are sealed forever once and for all time and eternity no matter what. Works did not make it and works can not un-make it.

As Paul writes in Rom.8:35-39 nothing can break His seal when we are sealed by the Holy Spirit that lives in everyone who has believed from the day we first believed. This is the New Covenant.

This is why the idea that Israel has been cast aside by God as many have falsely believed flies in the face of Paul’s teaching. In Rom.11:25 he says, β€œFor I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in.”

Paul here was describing for us a time yet future from when he wrote this in which the β€œblindness” would be removed from Israel. A blindness caused by their unbelief and continued striving under the law still waiting for messiah. Blindness that will be removed through the process of great tribulation that will bring to completion the last 1/2 of Daniel’s 70th week.

Daniel said, β€œSeventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy.”

When this is brought to completion through the great tribulation Paul says something wonderful happens for all Israel. He says that it is then that β€œall Israel shall be saved”. Meaning that all who have believed in Jesus after all is said and done, both Jews and the rest of the nations, will be saved.

But, our part will be finished after this dispensation of the grace of God has come to an end. And its end Paul says is when the fulness of the gentiles, that is the time Gentiles β€œshould be fellowheirs, and of the same body, and partakers of his promise in Christ by the gospel”, has come in.

Oh but you might be saying, the people alive during Jesus’ day were still here afterward. Why weren’t they taken with Jesus? Because everything changed for them after Jesus left and the Holy Spirit came. So their’s was not to leave with Jesus. Their’s was to be transformed by the Holy Spirit into a β€œnew creature in Christ”. And to minister this same reconciliation and transformation to an unbelieving world.

This is why Peter went from cowering in denial of even knowing Jesus. To being a powerhouse for Christ that even beatings and imprisonment couldn’t shut up. A transformation meant for this dispensation alone.

One made possible by the spirit created in men by God after Jesus left that was never there before. Peter was born again. Born of the Spirit of God. It was because of this transformation, the same that has happened for 2,000 years now in everyone who has believed in Jesus for eternal life, that they and we remain. But, only for this dispensation.

Because Paul says when the β€œfulness of the gentiles”, which is a reference to a certain time in the time that God in eternity past, as He made His plans for creation and especially mankind, has allotted to bring to completion what He planned in eternity past for this dispensation is done, we will be β€œcaught up”.

So like Paul taught in Gal.4 saying that when Jesus came it was when the β€œfulness of time had come”. So too will the fellowship of the New Covenant believers, God’s called out ones, or ecclesia, be caught up to be with Jesus when that fulness of time has come that we read in 1Thes.4.

For Israel the same time is spoken of through parable by Jesus when He told Israel about the 10 virgins. 5 foolish Israelites who were left behind when Jesus came for His bride. And 5 wise Israelites who went with Jesus because their lamps were full because they had believed in Him. They knew Him and He knew them.

So when we are done with this dispensation wherein we have done the ministry of reconciliation given to us by the Holy Spirit. Then β€œwe which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.” As 1Thes.4:17 says.

And beloved I want you to see this next statement Paul makes here in 1Thes.4:18. Because it is so important that we keep our focus on Him in what He is about to do. Because Paul writes here words of comfort and consoling for those who love Jesus and long for His appearing.

Paul says that when we are aware that the time of the gentiles is coming to a close we are to β€œcomfort one another with these words”. What words? Those words that speak of Jesus’ coming to call us up to meet Him in the air. And so shall we ever be with the Lord.

If you have trusted in Jesus as He trusted the Father then you have eternal life. And are sealed with the Holy Spirit unto the day of redemption. And are ready for Jesus’ call when He comes to take us to be with Him. But, if you haven’t yet trusted in Him for eternal life then you have no such assurance.

So if you will now confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus. And believe in your heart that He has raised from the dead. You shall be saved. You will have the assurance of eternal life now, and the seal of the Holy Spirit unto the day of redemption. And will receive immortality at the resurrection.

You will be made a child of God for all eternity by the spirit He creates in you that causes man’s need for Jesus. A spirit that joins you to God as His child and heir forever.

Do this and you will be born again. Do this and you will live forever in God’s kingdom. Do this… and I will see you there or in the air!
