Once considered the gold standard, the 2020 U.S. election were marred by allegations of a rigged outcome. Activists and observers sounded the alarm over widespread claims of voter fraud in multiple states where Dominion voting machines were used. The most notable case involved the battleground state of Georgia. Initially, the state’s Democratic government dismissed multiple reports of irregularities and manipulation in 2021, but a subsequent investigation found that the allegations were not entirely baseless.

Moncla-Rossi Allegations of Fraud in Georgia

In 2022, Republican activists Joseph Rossi and Kevin Moncla filed a case alleging that Fulton County, Georgia, had failed to accurately conduct a machine recount during the 2020 election that allowed Joe Biden to win by a narrow margin. Similar to other concerns that had questioned the Democratic Party’s victory, the Moncla-Rossi complaint was initially labeled a conspiracy theory and a desperate attempt to deny the voting outcome.

However, by May 2024, the Georgia State Election Board investigation[1] discovered that the Dominion machines had recorded 3,125 duplicate ballots in the cast vote record (CVR), 17,852 CVR votes were missing corresponding ballot images, and 20,713 votes were improperly recorded in the CVR. In other words, suspicions, once dismissed as nonsense and MAGA-bias, were ultimately substantiated by an independent investigation.

Expert-Confirmed Vulnerabilities

As allegations of fraud and corrupt machine recounts are serious accusations, the Republican plaintiffs had to provide evidence to support their claims. To that end, Walter Daugherity, a Senior Lecturer Emeritus in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Texas A&M University, was asked to provide expert analysis of Dominion voting systems in several trials[2][3].

According to his findings, the system is vulnerable to severe security breaches. Despite its sophisticated encryption, the keys that provide its security and data transfer between machines are stored in an unprotected plain text file within the database of the Election Management System (EMS). This means that anyone with access to the EMS can manipulate decoded election data and alter it leaving no traces in log files.

 The Enemy from Within

Computer expert Daugherity claims that passwords used in Dominion systems are weak, making them easily exploitable. Furthermore, some of these passwords were published online by the Election Assistance Commission in a defect report and remained unchanged for over 10 years. What is it if not reckless disregard to the crucial part of the election process?

Daugherity’s report emphasizes that an intruder or insider could potentially alter the election result, a scenario that echoes Donald Trump’s warnings about “the enemy from within.” Such actions are not mere blunders or harmless fraud, but a direct attack on American democracy. Therefore, it is essential to thoroughly investigate these allegations and ensure it never happens again.

Dominion Certification Controversy

According to the law, any voting equipment must be certified. Georgia officials consistently claimed that Dominion systems were approved in a proper and legal manner. However, the analysis by Walter Daugherity suggests that Dominion machines used in the 2020 election may have severely violated certification requirements.

There are two possible scenarios that could explain how the machines had become compromised at the time of expert’s research. First, Dominion never met the requirements by Law and became contractor through improper means, such as bribery. Second, the machines initially fit for election but later, unintentionally or on purpose, became vulnerable via software update.

Dominion Broader Story

A deeper dive into the Dominion case reveals that controversies surrounding the use of its voting machines during the 2020 election extend far beyond Fulton County, GA. In Colorado, for example, 62 out of 64 counties used Dominion voting machines.

Back in 2021 Mesa County, CO, became another battleground between supporters and deniers of the stolen election version. At the center of the storm was Tina Peters, a clerk who made public allegations of voter fraud[4].

While Peters’ actions were partially unauthorized, they did expose the fact that the vital voting information stored on Dominion systems was deleted after another software update. This revelation cannot be overemphasized, as it paved the way for a more comprehensive investigation[5] into election tampering and Dominion’s potential role in it.

The very fact that nearly 96% of Colorado counties used the same voting machine manufacturer is also suspicious. Some pundits point out that Dominion Voting Systems made at least 30 donations to Colorado Secretary of State Jena Griswold’s election campaign[6] in 2019, when she ran as a Democratic Party candidate.

This raises concerns about a potential conflict of interest in her decision-making. Furthermore, Jena Griswold had been consistently defending Dominion after misconduct was revealed. It is yet another piece of evidence of alleged bribery over that cooperation.

New Striking Evidence of Dominion Election Fraud (see annex A)

This part of the piece might be the most exciting as the public has never seen what will just appear. This information was obtained from a trustworthy source that insisted to remain anonymous for security reasons. Here are some confidential slides that describe Dominion audit algorithms and show irregularities in how voting machines processed paper ballots.

The voting process within the systems concerned consists of three key components: paper ballots, an electronic table recording voters’ choices, and the AuditMark report, which details how paper ballots were scanned and recorded in the tables. However, the confidential documents appear to show a disturbing discrepancy between the data recorded in the tables and the actual votes cast. The tables are reportedly filled with literally the opposite of what was selected on the paper ballots, raising serious questions about the accuracy of the voting process.

The slides may be part of a broader effort by the Republican Party to challenge the integrity of the 2020 election results. I was told the authenticity and contents of these confidential slides are under no doubt. It is essential to bring this information to the public’s attention.

Anxious times ahead

Dominion’s official web-page says at least 27 U.S. states will use its electronic voting technology in the 2024 election. The numerous controversies surrounding the manufacturer raise reasonable concerns about the integrity of the forthcoming voting process, especially against the backdrop of a new investigation[7] into 2,500 suspicious voting registration forms in Pennsylvania.

This piece is not meant to promote conspiracy theories over Dominion voting machines, Fulton and Mesa counties cases, but it has a more important objective. It is to warn U.S., the American people, of existing threats to our Democracy and encourage for a more cautious and responsible approach towards the voting process. And to remind us one more time that consistent claims from authorities, ranging from an ordinary clerk to a ranking member of the U.S. Congress, typically Democratic, on election undoubted integrity and other issues might not necessarily be true and require at least a fact-check.
