Censorship is the only hope for increasingly desperate Democrat grandees as Kamala Harris flounders in swing states and among Hispanic voters against Donald Trump.Β
The vapid candidate they installed at the last minute is shaping up to be even less palatable to voters than her predecessor Joe Biden. Apart from her off-putting personality and inability to string together a coherent sentence, her biggest liability is the illegal migrant invasion.Β
As Bidenβs designated border czar, Harris cannot evade responsibility for the irreparable damage on her watch, after 12 million to 20 million illegal aliens entered the country, including hundreds of thousands of criminals and terrorists.Β
She canβt pretend it wasnβt deliberate because there are too many video clips on social media showing her past statements of support for far-left open border policies, including free Medicare for illegals and the reward of a rapid βpathβ to citizenship.Β
She made a brazen attempt Friday to remedy the toxic politics by posing as a border hawk and trying to flip the tables on Donald Trump with a 20-minute photo opportunity at the Arizona border, dressed in a combat jacket in 99-degree heat and a chunky gold necklace reportedly worth more than $60,000.
But the stunt backfired under the weight of its own absurdity and the fortuitously timed release of new Customs and Immigration Enforcement data showing that over 600,000 illegal migrants with criminal histories or pending criminal charges have been let loose in the country. That includes more than 13,000 convicted murderers and 15,000 convicted rapists.
Misinfo on disinfo
With damning facts piling up about Harrisβ woeful record, the Demsβ only escape route is to censor bad news about the border, the economy and other failures of the Biden-Harris administration and try to bury Harrisβ history of radical pronouncements which put the lie to her new fake persona as a moderate.
This is why you have heard two former secretaries ofΒ state, Hillary Clinton and John Kerry, bemoaning the existence of the First Amendment in recent days, using similar language about the need to βbreak the feverβ of disinformation by electing Harris.Β
Clinton has even called for criminal sanctions against Americans who share βmisinformation.βΒ
Of course, disinformation or misinformation is whatever Democrats find inconvenient, as we learned when the New York Postβs accurate reporting about Hunter Bidenβs laptop was censored before the 2020 election because it was damaging to his fatherβs presidential campaign.
Kerry, not being the brightest tool in the Dem shed, let the cat out of the bag Wednesday in a World Economic Forum panel on Green Energy during the UN gabfest in New York City.
Referring to βclimate misinformation,β Bidenβs former globe-trotting climate czar launched the most astonishing diatribe attacking freedom of speech which he claims is the only thing standing in the way of βconsensusβ β aβkβa the Democrat narrative.
βThe dislike of and anguish over social media is just growing and growing,β said Kerry. βIt is part of our problem, particularly in democracies, in terms of building consensus around any issue.
βItβs really hard to govern today.β
1st Amendment stands
Kerry moaned that Americans no longer trust the βreferees we used to have to determine what is a fact and what isnβt a fact,β presumably meaning propaganda mouthpieces at outlets like The New York Times that used to reliably regurgitate his climate lies.
Horror of horrors, now people have alternative sources of information and βself-select where they go for their news or for their information and then you just get into a vicious cycle, so itβs really, really hard to build consensus [and] thereβs a lot of discussion now about how you curb those entities,β he said.
But, sadly for Kerry, the pesky First Amendment acts as it was intended by Americaβs Founding Fathers, to be the foundation of freedom and a protection against authoritarian control by people like Kerry and Clinton and Harris who think they know better than the rest of us.Β
A simple survey of their βachievementsβ says otherwise.
βIf people go to only one source and the source they go to is sick and has an agenda and theyβre putting out disinformation, our First Amendment stands as a major block to the ability to be able to just hammer it out of existence,β Kerry lamented.
βSo, what we need is to . . . win the right to govern by hopefully winning enough votes that youβre free to be able to implement change . . . Democracies are very challenged right now and have not proven they can move fast enough or big enough to deal with the challenges that we are facing and, to me, that is part of what this election is all about,β he said.Β
βWill we break the fever in the United States?β
Controlling βnarrativeβ
Clinton used the same language on the weekend when she accused Trump of doing what she and her fellow Dems are doing.Β
In an interview with βFiring Lineβ host Margaret Hoover, she accused the media and social media of failing to present a βconsistent narrative about the danger that Trump poses,β and warned that the Harris campaign had plans to βcombat both domestic and foreign false disinformation.βΒ
She also told a Canadian interviewer that βwhen she [Harris] defeats Trump, maybe the fever will break.β
If this is what they say in front of the camera, you can only imagine the plans they are hatching behind closed doors.Β
If Harris does win the election, the dark clouds of censorship will descend on America, just as they have in the UK, Europe, Australia, Canada and New Zealand.Β
