House Republican Leaders Hold News Conference
House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) held a news conference to outline his strategy for passing a two-step continuing resolution and avoiding a government shutdown.
The speaker predicted bipartisan support for his proposal. When asked if he was worried about retaining his post in light of conservative opposition, he responded: “I’m not concerned about it at all.” Mr. Johnson also said after Congress returns from the December holiday recess, there would be no more continuing resolutions to fund the government. “I’m done with short-term CRs,”
