California Governor Gavin Newsom just bashed the Democrat party.
While speaking with Bill Maher, he called the Democrat brand “toxic.”
Bill Maher asks Gavin Newsom about the prospects of the Democrat party and praises Gavin for talking to the ‘other side’ on his podcast:
Maher: “John Fetterman said ‘If we don’t get our shit together, we’re going to be a permanent minority’

“I mean, this idea that we can’t even have a conversation with the other side … or the notion we just have to continue to talk to ourselves or win the same damn echo chamber, these guys are crushing us,” he continued, referencing Republicans who have seen better numbers in recent elections.
“The Democratic brand is toxic right now,” the governor said, adding later that “we talk down to people. We talk past people.”
…
“And I think with this podcast and having the opportunity to dialog with people I disagree with, it’s an opportunity to try to find common ground and not take cheap shots,” he said. “I’m not looking to put a spoke in the wheel of their or … a crowbar in the spokes of their wheel to trip them up.”
According to an NBC Poll, the Democrat Party’s popularity hit an all-time low.
Only 27% said they have positive views of the party.
The Democratic Party has reached an all-time low in popularity in the latest national NBC News poll, as it searches for a path forward after a painful loss to President Donald Trump — and as the party’s voters spoil for a fight between their leaders in Washington and Trump.
Just over a quarter of registered voters (27%) say they have positive views of the party, which is the party’s lowest positive rating in NBC News polling dating back to 1990. Just 7% say those views are “very” positive.
“With these numbers, the Democratic Party is not in need of a rebrand. It needs to be rebooted,” said Democratic pollster Jeff Horwitt of Hart Research Associates, who conducted the survey along with GOP pollster Bill McInturff of Public Opinion Strategies.
Even Democrats know that their party is in trouble.
