Patty Armour and Lois Armour (Ralls County Jail).

When law enforcement arrived at a Missouri home in search of a person of interest, two women “misled” them about the man’s whereabouts, leading to a deadly shooting, authorities say.

Patty Armour, 51, and Lois Armour, 78, both stand charged with second-degree felony murder, the Missouri State Highway Patrol announced.

The women were previously arrested on felony hindering prosecution charges after they “hindered” officers’ attempts to reach 57-year-old Charles Armour.

It was Oct. 12, and law enforcement officers arrived at a home in Paris, Missouri, to follow up on a lead regarding a murder investigation in Ralls County, just east of Paris. Patty and Lois Armour met officers and they began to speak.

Though authorities were “allowed access” into the home, the two women said he was not there, according to probable cause statements reviewed by Law&Crime. This was a lie, authorities said, as Charles Armour was “concealed in the master bathroom” and “armed with a handgun.”

Officers went searching and eventually located him. That is when a shootout commenced.

Charles Armour fired his gun at officers, hitting one of them, the court documents state. This officer was brought to an area hospital for treatment and later released. The suspect himself was killed during the exchange of gunfire.

The women were arrested and held in jail on $50,000 — and then $100,000 bond on the hindering prosecution charges. Given the new murder charges against them, they are now being held without bond.

It is unclear what relation, if any, the women had to Charles Armour.

The women are scheduled to appear in Monroe County court on Wednesday.
