President Trump Signs HALT Fentanyl Act at White House
President Trump held a signing ceremony for the HALT Fentanyl Act, a bipartisan bill aimed at combating the flow of fentanyl into and around the United States. He said, “With this bill, we are officially and permanently classifying all fentanyl or related substances as Schedule I narcotics … meaning anyone caught trafficking these illicit poisons will be punished with a mandatory 10-year minimum sentence in prison,” and declared that all fentanyl-related substances would be banned. He was joined by activists whose family members had died from fentanyl poisoning.
