If Salon were more like The Babylon Bee, Amanda Marcotte’s latest RHEEE-fest about [checks notes] babies of pallor would read as wry parody. Alas, GenX’s most whiney AWFL is dead serious. And it’s hilarious.
It appears that J.D. and Usha’s announcement of new baby Vance’s July arrival just sent Mad Mandy over the cliff.
Everyone’s heard of someone having a baby in a doomed bid to save a marriage. But to save a fascist ideological project is a new one. OK, OK — no one can prove that Second Lady Usha Vance, White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt and Katie Miller, the wife of White House deputy chief of staff Stephen Miller, all got pregnant as a concurrent MAGA propaganda project. Underpinning all this happy talk about “more babies” is a hateful project aimed both at white-ifying America and destroying decades of women’s progress.
Women have indeed made progress … They get more college degrees, are over-represented in college student bodies, were 63% of the judges appointed by Creepy Joe’s handlers, majority in medical schools, and currently 46% of the nation’s managers. But I’m sure genetic-deadender Mandy sees no downside to the Great Feminization of the culture.
Fish don’t perceive wetness, either.
Mandy is a humorless scold of everything not firmly within the Leftist commune and, like the fabled Mrs. Grundy of old, is on the outlook for people having WrongFun. And what’s more happy fun than a new baby?
But true to her Cluster B pathology masquerading as political commentary, Mandy believes the MAGA babyboom in this administration has no support, indeed that the general public is hostile to it.
Despite all the right-wing media hype around these pregnancies, the response of the general public has cut against their hopes … Usha Vance’s pregnancy was mostly met with jokes about how she’s trying to steal her husband back from Erika Kirk. The Millers were greeted with speculation that the real father of the (sic) their child is Elon Musk. Leavitt’s announcement inspired cracks about how pregnant women aren’t supposed to use fillers, along with jokes about the 32-year age gap that exists between her and her 60-year-old husband.
Mandy’s delusion that the other psychologically disturbed reprobates she hangs with constitute the general public demonstrates how much she hates normal Americans and their culture of country, family, and faith.
But people who aren’t sufficiently leftwing aren’t real people to Mandy. The women here aren’t having babies because they want to grow the families they love. No, these babies are a fascist commodity according to Marcotte.
Hmmmm… babies as commodities … a charge coming from a female who not only is childless but hates babies with a passion:

Meanwhile, sane human beings adore babies and the joyous responses, accompanied by some very funny memes, surrounding the Vances is a lot of fun.
