The Issue: The US military’s airstrike against Iran, destroying three nuclear sites.
Just as you wouldn’t allow a child to play with matches, one shouldn’t allow a fanatical regime made up of religious zealots to play with atomic bombs (“Nuke site blasting is long lasting,” June 25).
Iran has always acted irresponsibly — and with atomic weapons, it would act even more irresponsibly. Iran’s rulers have shown no regard for how many innocent people they kill to achieve their twisted goals.
President Trump has made the world much safer by eliminating an existential threat that would have caused havoc had he not taken action.

Trump has entered the fray by bombing Iran’s nuclear facilities, a tactic that has little chance of destroying Iran’s nuclear capabilities, but every possibility of complicating matters further.
Diplomats and intelligence analysts on all sides have their thankless work cut out for them now that Trump has driven his clown car into the Middle East house of mirrors.

Thank you, President Trump, for the success of Operation Midnight Hammer.
Your exemplary military and national security advisers successfully planned and executed a massive strike necessary to assist the continued existence of the state of Israel as well as America.
Iran’s obsession with obliterating Israel and America is not a secret by any means.
Unfortunately, our past presidents just chose to ignore Iran’s threats and actions and appease its leadership.
Our military has risen to the occasion and will continue to do so under this new administration.
We, as Americans, know that we will be protected no matter what, because we have a president who loves America.

Kudos to Trump for his “peace through strength” military action in obliterating Iranian nuke sites.
However, if he showed that same strength with regard to his favorite dictator, Vladimir Putin — instead of abandoning Ukraine and letting the kids fight it out in the playground — the daily bombardment of Ukraine would cease.

Provocation is not the answer to global peace.
We should not gloat about our success.
Unfortunately, our leaders have not learned to behave for peace.

Trump’s hammer might have actually worked: No American casualties, no boots on the ground — and, hopefully, no endless quagmire.
It was a coordinated strike so efficient it looked like a Steven Spielberg film — epic, surgical and with just enough suspense to keep you from blinking.
Democrats have started spinning the impeachment wheel again.
Their new gripe: He didn’t consult them first.
Right — because US military strategy should work like a town zoning meeting.
Where was this righteous outrage when former President Barack Obama bombed Libya, Syria and Pakistan without so much as a group e-mail?
Trump drops a hammer, stops a war and suddenly Democrats are filing articles of impeachment.

Iran is not a strong country.
It has been bombed by Israel, and its offensive and defensive ability is poor.
It is no North Korea or Russia.
I doubt President Trump would have been so aggressive toward other countries.
North Korea was experimenting with nuclear bombs, and Trump did nothing but call Kim Jong-un “rocket man,” go see him and write letters.
He bombed a weaker country, unable to respond, and is now labeled a “tough leader.”
One could compare it to attacking an elderly person not really able to defend themselves.

It only took Trump five months to put the nuclear capabilities of Iran into its place.
The contrast between former President Joe Biden and Trump is like night and day.
The catering to and appeasement of the enemy can no longer be tolerated.
