ICE and Border Patrol Officials Provide Update on Immigration Enforcement in Minneapolis
U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and U.S. Border Patrol officials held a press conference in Minneapolis to provide an update on ongoing federal immigration enforcement operations across the region.
Border Patrol Commander at Large Greg Bovino stated that operations are continuing “unabated,” confirming that multiple illegal alien criminals were taken off the streets over the past 24 hours. Officials emphasized that enforcement efforts will not be deterred by protests or outside pressure.
Bovino was joined by Marcos Charles, Executive Associate Director of ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO). The officials discussed recent arrests in the Minneapolis area and addressed organized anti-ICE protests, including disruptions at a St. Paul church.
During the briefing, ICE and Border Patrol leaders also refuted false claims circulating online that a five-year-old child had been detained separately from his family during an operation. Officials confirmed the child was safe and remained with family members at all times.
Federal authorities reiterated their mission to enforce immigration law, protect public safety, and remove criminal offenders, stating that operations in Minneapolis will continue as planned.
