Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick (R-PA) posted a bizarre video on social media, claiming heβs delivering a very βpersonalβ message to Russian President Vladimir Putin.
βIt was my profound honor to deliver a very βpersonalβ message to Vladimir Putin today, from the front lines of the war near the Russian border, on behalf of our PA-1 community. The only permissible details to share are that βthe message was delivered on target,’β Fitzpatrick said.

From POLITICO:
Fitzpatrick has long been a staunch supporter of Ukraine, despite the deterioration of relations between Zelenskyy and Trump. While often avoiding criticizing Trump by name, he has sought to rebut much of the presidentβs broadsides against Ukraine and its president. Trump has repeatedly blamed Ukraine for igniting the war that Russia actually started, and has attacked his Ukrainian counterpart for what he characterized as Zelenskyy taking advantage of the U.S.
βPutin, and Putin alone, should bear the economic costs of Putinβs illegal and unprovoked invasion of Ukraine,β Fitzpatrick said in February. βTo force Ukraine to pay these costs is the epitome of victim-blaming and victim extortion.β
Fitzpatrick said in a video posted by Zelenskyy Thursday that he intended to visit the front lines during his trip.
βA lot of people talk a big game about supporting Ukraine. Iβm here in Kyiv, Ukraine for one-on-one meetings with President Zelenskyy himself to actually make it happen,β Fitzpatrick said.

The Republican congressman faced massive criticism for the stunt.
So let me get this straight: while Pres Trump is trying to negotiate an end to this war. a U.S. state rep is touring the Ukrainian frontline w cameras firing weapons at the Russians & gloating about hitting his target? This is a crime. Why are these people so invested in Ukraine? https://t.co/zy49HDSeHG

This illegal act of war by a sitting member of congress must be investigated for prosecution @POTUS. The US is NOT at war with Russia, so why are you β a sitting member of Congress β committing acts of aggression against Russia?!

Committing a direct act of war while engaged in combat tourism is the dumbest thing Iβve ever seen a representative do, and thatβs a hard feat to achieve.

What does any of that have to do with Pennsylvania?

From The Kyiv Independent:
U.S. Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick, a pro-Ukraine Republican representing Pennsylvania, visited Ukrainian troops near the front line on April 18, following his meeting with President Volodymyr Zelensky in Kyiv.
βThese are amazing soldiers, the men and women of the Ukrainian military, much like the men and women of the U.S. military, have this amazing fighting spirit. Theyβre fighting for their democracy, theyβre fighting for the freedom β all of us in America need to stand behind them,β Fitzpatrick said in a video address filmed on the front line, published on his Facebook account.
βI always have and always will have their back. I encourage all my colleagues in Congress to come here.β
Fitzpatrickβs visit comes as Washington signaled that it was ready to cease its mediation efforts to end Russiaβs war against Ukraine if one of the sides βmakes it difficult.β
In a post shared on Facebook, Fitzpatrick published another video, showing him signing an artillery shell with a message to Russian President Vladimir Putin.
