I’m sure there is nothing to this, but it’s one of those things that just makes you shake your head and wonder if we truly are living in a simulation.
Because it turns out the Pima County Sheriff’s Department, which is the exact same Sheriff’s Department running the Nancy Guthrie kidnapping case, just got it’s own reality TV show on A&E.
Check this out:
Am I the only one who had no idea the Pima County Sheriff’s Department has its own reality show on A&E??
It premiered in January, and they’ve already filmed two full seasons.

But is that for sure true?
Yes!
Fact-Checked TRUE by Grok, although it says don’t worry though because filming wrapped up BEFORE Nancy Guthrie was kidnapped.
The Pima County Sheriff’s Department does indeed have a reality TV show called Desert Law on A&E, which follows deputies handling high-stakes operations across their vast desert jurisdiction in Arizona.
It premiered on January 7, 2026, with new episodes airing Wednesdays at 10/9c, and the first season is ongoing (e.g., episode 8 airs February 25).
Filming for season 1 occurred in spring and summer 2025, well before the Nancy Guthrie kidnapping on February 1, 2026.
Sheriff Chris Nanos coordinated with producers but does not appear on camera, and officials have emphasized that the show does not cover the Guthrie case, as production wrapped prior to it.
However, the post’s mention of “two full seasons” already filmed appears overstated—sources consistently reference only season 1 (a 10-episode run) as completed and airing, though some reports imply a second batch of episodes may be in the works or planned.
No outlets confirm two fully filmed seasons yet. The timing has fueled online speculation and irony, with some X users and media noting how the show’s “glamorous” portrayal contrasts with criticisms of the department’s handling of the Guthrie abduction (e.g., delays in footage review and Nanos’ public statements).
Authorities maintain there’s no link, and the Guthrie investigation remains active, treated as a targeted kidnapping with no suspects charged as of February 20.
Ok, so I guess nothing to see here…
I’m sure this won’t be used for Season 2 or anything!
