Teamsters President Sean O’Brien appeared on ‘This Past Weekend w/ Theo Von’ and blasted Democrats.

The International Brotherhood of Teamsters is an influential labor union representing approximately 1.3 million workers in the United States and Canada.

“I’ll be honest with you, I’m a Democrat but they have f***** us over for the last 40 years,” O’Brien said.

“And for once, and not all of them, but for once, we’re standing up as a union, probably the only one right now, saying, ‘What the f*** have you done for us?’” O’Brien continued.

“And I’m getting attacked from the left and we’ve given, since I’ve been in office, two and a half years, we’ve given the Democratic machine $15.7 million. We’ve given Republicans about $340,000, truth be told. So it’s like, you know, people say the Democratic Party is the party of the working people. They’re bought and paid for by Big Tech,” he added.

Teamsters made headlines for declining to endorse a presidential candidate in the 2024 election.

“For the past year, the Teamsters Union has pledged to conduct the most inclusive, democratic, and transparent Presidential endorsement process in the history of our 121-year-old organization—and today we are delivering on that promise to our members,” O’Brien said.

“Our members are the union, and their voices and opinions must be at the forefront of everything the Teamsters do. Our final decision around a possible Presidential endorsement will not be made lightly, but you can be sure it will be driven directly by our diverse membership,” he added.

O’Brien also spoke at the Republican National Convention in July.

From the New York Post:

The trash-talking union boss has clashed with members of both parties — nearly getting into a fistfight with Sen. Markwayne Mullin (R-Okla.) last year during a Senate hearing.

O’Brien also told Von that he had a “heated discussion” that “got f–king ugly” with Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) last month over his union’s drift away from the Democrats.

“Chuck Schumer is a piece of s—,” Von said — as O’Brien claimed that at one point, the Brooklyn Democrat wouldn’t sign a support letter during a standoff against UPS.

O’Brien also trashed California Democratic Gov. Gavin Newsom for vetoing a Teamster-backed bill to effectively ban autonomous trucking.

“The guy that looks like in Bradley Cooper, the governor of California, Newsom. That guy is bought and paid for by Big Tech,” he said. “He had the opportunity to protect the general public and his constituents from AI, from autonomous vehicles, from all this bulls—.”

O’Brien noted that the Teamsters previously chose not to endorse a Democrat in 1996 after incumbent President Bill Clinton crafted the NAFTA free trade agreement with Canada and Mexico, saying “it f–ked a lot of our members over and we lost jobs as a result of it. So we couldn’t.”
