President Trump announced a new plan to eliminate all taxes on overtime pay.

โ€œIโ€™m also announcing that as part of our additional tax cuts, we will end all taxes on overtime,โ€ Trump told a crowd Thursday in Tucson, Arizona.

โ€œThat gives people more of an incentive to work. It gives the companies a lot. Itโ€™s a lot easier to get the people,โ€ he continued.

โ€œThe people who work overtime are among the hardest-working citizens in our country. And for too long, no one in Washington has been looking out for them,โ€ he added.

โ€œThose are the people, they really work. Theyโ€™re police officers, nurses, factory workers, construction workers, truck drivers and machine operators,โ€ he noted.

โ€œWhen you pass 40 hours a week, your overtime hours will be tax free,โ€ he added.

Fox News reports:

Trump has also promised to get rid of taxes on Social Security benefits and the taxation of tips for service workers, a pledge Vice President Kamala Harris has made, as well as raising the minimum wage.

The Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget estimated that eliminating taxes on tip income, as well as increasing the minimum wage, could add between $100 billion and $200 billion to the nationโ€™s deficits over a 10-year window.

โ€œPresident Trump announces a brand new plan aimed at blue-collar, non-salaried workers to END all taxes on overtime,โ€ Charlie Kirk wrote.

Per ABC News:

Trump offered no specifics on his new proposal, spending much of the speech airing his grievances about this weekโ€™s ABC News-hosted debate and again declaring he would not participate in any more, as he had earlier in the day, and attacking his opponent Vice President Kamala Harris.

โ€œSo, because weโ€™ve done two debates and because they were successful, there will be no third debate,โ€ said Trump to cheers in Tucson. โ€œItโ€™s too late anyway, the voting has already begun. You got to go out and vote. We got to vote.โ€

He continued to also launch personal attacks against Vice President Kamala Harris, mimicking her speaking style and expressions and mocking her name by saying nobody knows what her last name is.

โ€œNow, Kamala is a very different kind of a word, nice name, very nice name,โ€ Trump said. โ€œYou donโ€™t know her as Harris. When you say Harris, everyone says, โ€˜Who the hell is that?โ€™ right?โ€

Before unveiling his new economic proposal, the former president attempted to link immigration to the high cost of housing, arguing that a surge in undocumented migrants were driving up costs and creating dangerous neighborhoods.
