It’s a bird, it’s a plane, oh wait, it’s a Walmart drone.

It appears Walmart is taking a page out of Communist China’s playbook.

In recent years, the number of drone delivery services in China has increased.

Take a look:

Now, Walmart is looking to expand its drone delivery operations to five major U.S. cities.

USA Today reported on which five cities these drones will soon come to:

Walmart is expanding its drone delivery service to five more major United States cities, the company announced.

The retail corporation is set to offer the amenity in parts of Georgia, Florida, North Carolina and Texas, Walmart wrote in a press release. The company already offered drone delivery in Dallas, Texas and Bentonville, Arkansas.

Walmart said it has made more than 150,000 drone deliveries since launching the service in 2021.

“This expansion underscores Walmart’s commitment to reshaping the future of fast and flexible retail,” the release reads.

Here’s what a Walmart drone looks like:

In December of last year, a 72-year-old man was arrested after he shot at a Walmart drone after it flew over his property.

Yahoo News had more on the story:

A retiree who shot at a Walmart delivery drone to make it “shoo off” has accepted a plea deal after being hit with criminal charges.

Dennis Winn, 72, was accused of causing $2,500 of damage after shooting the aircraft outside his home in Lake County, Florida.

The former fire captain is said to have believed he was being surveilled by drones and was suspicious of them, a police report states.

The elderly man was cleaning his pool when he heard a “whirring noise” and went to retrieve his gun.

After blasting the craft, Mr Winn joked to police that he “must be a good shot”.

When police informed him of the cost of the damage to the drone, he is also said to have asked them if he could keep it, according to the police report.

Bodycam footage from the time of the incident shows the 72-year-old saying: “I fired one round at it.

“They say I hit it, so I must be a good shot, or else it’s not that far away.
