Vice President-elect JD Vance underwent sinus surgery at George Washington Hospital on Friday.
The procedure, it turns our, will not disrupt his schedule.
Vance was said he could return to work the next day.
Earlier that day, Vance attended the swearing-in of new senators, including Republicans Bernie Moreno and Dave McCormick.
When he resigns his Senate seat, it will be Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine who will appoint a replacement.
This comes with a special election scheduled for 2026.
